Pres-Season Power Rankings

Hey SP! The season starts tonight so I thought I would share my pre-season power rankings.

The way I will format this is I will put my projected standings, each team’s g7 lineup, who I think will win each award, and then lastly I will give a brief analysis of each team and their record. I am also going to put the best/worst picks in the draft, Enjoy!

Eastern Conference

  1. Toronto Maple Leafs
  2. Carolina Hurricanes
  3. Florida Panthers
  4. Detroit Red Wings
  5. Pittsburgh Penguins
  6. Montreal Canadiens
  7. Philadelphia Flyers

Philadelphia Flyers: GM- Cuban1616         13-26-4

Now to start off I have the Flyers when looking at their roster I don’t think that Adxm trade benefited them, they essentially got KidMon3y and JayScott555 for Adxm…. Overall looking at this team it seems to be a somewhat deep team but no X-Factor caliber player. This team could shock me but I’m not counting on it.

LW Ivan

C Jayscott

RW Detjax

LD Eggman

RD Kidmon3y

G Dynasty

Montreal Canadiens: Gm- Reapz    21- 18-4

Now with this team, I usually don’t want to count Reap and Cup out but after them, it gets very slim. Their D-core is probably among the weakest in the league. Having Vis and CaptCanada as your top 2 D might get scary come to a playoff push. But I can see Cup and Reap getting their backpacks out and somehow bringing this team to a playoff spot but we will see how reap manages the team throughout the season.

LW: Reap

C: Serv or Fly

RW: Cup

LD: Canada

RD: Vis

G: Jean

Pittsburgh Penguins: GM- WheelChairDevon8   23-17-3

This team has a pretty nice forward core but they have the same problem as most teams but it is the lack of a d core that will be this team’s downfall. Now I have not seen randy on RD but he is a good enough player to the point where he won’t struggle. If this team’s avail can be good I can see this being their ceiling but they have a pretty bad floor if it gets to it. But having Drydxn- is a massive W for them.

LW: OGBobbyBartIett

C: John_Dean_16

RW: Randymarsh2012

LD: FreezeMothaSucka

RD: wheelchairdevon8

G: drydxn-

Detroit Red Wings: Gm- Coffey-Lidstrom      24-16-3

This team has a couple of good players but after that, it goes downhill. They got Cati at a great draft position. Their forward core especially getting Smiirk for the deal they got is decent but when you check their defense out it is very thin. Curtis is going to run that D core but the rest is a yikes. This team I think has the potential to shock me and be a top team but my gut says it won’t happen.

lW:Catigory

C:Smiirk

RW:Jcpens22

LD:Curtis

RD:Coffey

G:Ranch

Florida Panthers: GM- ExE-_53           24-17-2

The way it seemed that ExE built this team I think he wanted to be decent at everything but not great at anything which is what this roster looks like. The forwards will be decent with Yung, Karlsson, and Grattzky as their main core. For the D it’s led by ExE, and Dead. Their goalie is solid with Spencer knight. This team will be very solid but they may not have the game-breaking player to bring them all the way.

Carolina Hurricanes: GM- Uberpwned6969      28-13-2

This team is one of the teams that I consider “contenders’ ‘. They are extremely solid with getting an X-Factor player in Whitetees, tees will be their main piece with very solid supporting roles in Uber, Fish, Shady, and SlapNutz. Their goalie with xchoo will be extremely solid and can steal them a game or two. Having Shock as a reliable backup will be super solid and their depth I’m unsure of a lot of them but I think they will be a team to look for.

Toronto Maple Leafs: GM- Toslick (Toxslick)         32-9-2

This team is my cup favorites if they make the playoffs, that is not to say they are bad but their avail could be an issue but if their avail is decent they will 100% be a top team. Having Cpennback on D even though he’s a main forward, they will be set up there. Having Tommy (ass), Semple, and Slick as their forward core will be amongst the top tier.  Getting Shep where they got him was nice and they easily have the best G7 roster by far. They have good depth with Montoni, Clark, and Fox. Having goalieman as their Tendy will solidify their goalie spot.

LW: Semple

C: Tommy

RW: Toxslick

LD: Shep

RD:Cpenn

G:Goalieman

Western Conference

  1. Vancouver Canucks
  2. Toxic Yotes
  3. Colorado Avalanche
  4. LA Kings
  5. Vegas Golden Knights
  6. Seattle Kraken
  7. Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton Oilers: GM- ThatGuyShadow91   15-25-3

This team even though they had 2 first-round picks I think will be a bottom team with no shock potential in them. They got Brocc at the #3 pick who’s a gross player but has the temper of a child. Brocc is going to be good until he requests a trade after they go 0-3, the rest of the team is solid with Trauma, Buckley, team run, and lastly billcrxsby in the net. This team I think has one of the best depth but overall they kinda stink besides a couple of good spots.

LW: Buckley

C: Rook

RW: Brocc

LD: Scottie

RD: Trauma

G:bill

Seattle Kraken: GM- PEACEKEEPER500- 20-20-3

Last season I counted this team out and they proved me wrong but this season they are going to have to do it again. Peace built a team where it’s not as good as last season but it’s not a horrible team. They have KyleJ as their guy and he will be the one with the backpack on. Peace got a couple of other good players one of them was Vaniskk who is solid but this team just has way too many holes with a super weak D core and next to no depth. If Edmonton has good avail they will pass this team but if Edmonton doesn’t suck then this team will bottom-feed. Salda was a great pick late but they aren’t going to have the power to make the playoffs in my eyes.

LW: Salda

C:Kyle

RW: Vaniskk

LD:Louie

RD:xKlutch

G:Peace

Vegas Golden Knights: GM- Benji_frank_100   22-18-3

This team is solid but lacks top-end players. Sedin is a solid player (Tlance05) he will be their Centerpiece but after that, it’s a lot of decent guys but this team I think can shock me but I think that the lack of great players will slow them down.  They have some solid depth guys with smokxy, xcheechoo, and Kbatch. The rest of the team will be solid starters especially having a forward core with frauts, Chief, Benji , and maybe Tlance. Their D core will mainly be Lance, Smokxy, shxyne, and Batch. Their main goalie being Sharkie will be alright but might need a trade to get him a tandem partner.

LW: benji_frank_100

C: tlance05

RW: Frauts

 LD: Smoxky

RD: xshxyne

G: sharkie

LA Kings: GM- Probablekoz   23-18-2

With Koz taking the route of doing his whole team from the draft he left himself with some picks to work with. Koz had the #1 and #3 pick where he took BoKnows and Staleee- (captstalechips) Stale was a questionable pick considering what talent was there but he will keep their defense in line while Bo drops a solid 4ppg. This team has a lot of boom or bust potential where they could be great or a complete flop. Having Bo and Stale as your top two will be a great start. Having Parrot (shesterkxn) as their top goalie is huge for them. Their depth is questionable especially after losing Budz and marner. Koz will have to eventually make some moves to become contenders but for now, they are just a fringe playoff team. Having Dom where they got him will be a start to a good depth squad. If their depth can step up and their stars can thrive they could be a very good team.

LW: beaster

C: Dom

RW: Bo

LD:Stale

RD: Five

G: Parrot (shesterkxn)

Colorado Avalanche: GM- SA_Pliskin        26-15-2

The squad that Plisk built will be very good in my opinion. They have an X- factor player in Adxm, they have some very solid depth guys with Plisk, Jhursi, Spud, and benner. They will have a very solid team in the chemistry department. Having the ability to play Plisk anywhere will be life-saving for them. Some of their bottom-depth guys are not the best with a couple of guys that I don’t want to name but they can’t stop a beachball or can’t put the puck anywhere near their teammates but this team shouldn’t have to worry about that. Blade should be someone they can count on though so if he or Plisk are in the net they are set.

LW: Plisk

C: Benner

RW: jhursi

LD: Adxm

RD: zerczy

G: Blade

Arizona Coyotes: GM- mrlolchico13   28-12-3

Chico got himself a very solid roster with great depth and enough big players to get him far. Chico made a pretty shit trade to lose Smiirk but his team still looks great. His top D pairing is amongst the league’s best with himself and Jag. This D pair will be super nice especially when playoffs hit. They also had Bentpxxn who can play some RD and can be a solid fill-in player. Their forwards are decent with Pepsi, Pete, Jcpens , and maybe bentpxxn. Having Polar for the few weeks he has him is still very good. Chico will just need his backup G’s to step up when they are missing polar. This team can easily contend on day one for the chip 100%. If this team beats you just don’t look in the discord.

LW:Jcpens

C:Pepsi

RW:Bentpxxn

LD: Chico

RD: Jag

G: Polar

Vancouver Canucks: GM- chadkillz134      33-8-2

This team is my favorite to win the cup but it’s close. Chad got himself a very good team with the best G7 lineup by far. Chad has himself as their top G and he is no doubt the best G in SP. Their main Forward core consists of Hardie, Laffy, and Flyersnation. Their D core is again solid with Flyers again, DBS and Cookie. Cookie can also play G if Chad is not there which is solid. Having Flyers Play LD and fwd is going to be great for them. They are going to be a high-powered offensive team but if they don’t score a lot you better believe that they won’t let in much either.

LW: Laffy

C: Flyers

RW: Hardie

LD: Cookie

RD: DBS

G: Chad

Award predictions

For these awards, I am going to go off of who is most likely not who is the best player in that part of the game. I am going to do just player awards, the team awards are just dumb for rankings.

Jack Adams: Plisk

Now this award could have been projected to a few other guys but I think it will end up being Plisk because he has already made some good moves and if his team finishes as high as I think they will I think it will be because Plisk makes, even more, moves to put his team into that “contender” role.

Hart memorial: Adxm

This was honestly tough for me because of the number of even players I could have gone with. When I came to my conclusion of it being Adxm it just felt like the safest choice. Adxm was the Norris winner last season and will be this season (spoiler) he is going to be the biggest piece to the Avs and their hopeful Cup run. He is going to be a big offensive guy and still bring enough on defense to keep a balanced two-way game. Overall Adxm was the safest pick as he is the best player in SP and will bring his team all the way on his shoulders.

Frank J. Selke: Catigory

With this one, I decided to go with a defenseman who is going to play most of his games at forward. This felt like the right choice because with the team they have he is going to be playing a big defensive role to help out on the back end. Having Cati be a usual D-man just makes this more likely because he has the habits and skills of a D-man but he just is on forward here.

King Clancy: PeaceKeeper

Peace was a huge reason as to why SP was able to start when we did have the numbers that we did. Peace took a lot of money out of his own wallet to try and get guys into the league. Peace set up deals with other discord servers and he did his own recruiting. Peace is my 100% no-doubt choice for this award.

Bill Masterton: Salda

Salda last season was known as the pass around of SP but he was always positive about everything. I think that this season even if his team is bad he will stick it through and give all the support and hopefully the limited toxicity to whatever team he lands on.

Lady Byng: Reapz

Reapz is a prime candidate for this because he has won it before but he was close to winning it last season. Reapz is always one of the top players in SP and if he continues that trend then he will more than likely be in this spot as he does not take pens often especially with how many games he plays.

Maurice Richard: Reapz

Now, this could be very controversial because of the amount of talent in SP but reap is still one of the better players in SP and is always a high goal scorer. Reapz is always in the top 5 ish for most games played and if you mix that with his goal-scoring ability you get a great candidate for this award.

Art Ross: WhiteTees

This award i think will end up being tees because he is constantly a top player in SP and he will more than likely get a lot of games in. Tees is going to be with a very good team as well where they will be able to set him up and he will do the same. Tees will easily be up there if he has the games played near the top.

Norris: Adxm

I have already gone over it but I think Adxm will go back to back because he is going to be the main piece to the Avs offense which will lead to him getting a crazy amount of points. Adxm Is also going to be bridging a good amount of defense to his game to give him the best chance to win this award.

Vezina: Parrot (shesterkxn)

Now you could easily say that it will be Chad but parrot is going to be a top goalie on a fringe team, if he can be the main part of their success then he will be a top candidate for this award. Parrot is easily a top g in SP and if you mix his ability to make the Kings a fringe team to a pretty solid one. Count my early vote in here.

William M.  Jennings: ChadKillz

This award is easily Chad’s to win because he will be on a tip-top team in SP. their team is going to control a lot of the play in the other team’s end while playing great defense when it is in their end. Capping that off with Chad being a great goalie who can get himself this award even if he had an ok team.

Plus/minus: Hardie

Vancouver is going to be a great two-way team that is going to absolutely beat up the bad teams and almost never get blown up themselves. Hardie will be a big piece to that and if he gets a lot of games in I think he will be a top guy for this award.

Calder memorial: Parrot (shesterkxn)

Clearly if I have him winning the Vezina as a rookie he should be the one getting this award since he will for sure be the most outstanding rookie.

Top 3 best and worst pickups

For this section, I expect to get some heat but I’m excited to receive it. This loss is going to be rated off either their draft position, salary cap, and if they suck or not.

Top 3 best

(these are in no order)

  1. XxGrahame_47xX (Clark)  500k

This is where I expect the heat, Clark isn’t a bad player by any means he will 100% outperform the contract but the only way he is still worth this contract is if he stays muted in SP chat and in the team chat. Clark can be a decent player if he uses his brain but that only happens 1/10 games. Overall he will be 100% be worth this contract under those circumstances.

  1. Drydxn-   4M    RND 3 pick 2

This pick is absolutely gross, Drydxn is a great goalie who could easily make a huge run for the Vezina and was drafted this late. He is going to be one of his Team’s X Factor players and hopefully bring his team all the way or at least to a respectable spot.

  1. Parrot    3.5M   RND 3 pick 13

Yes, I know another goalie but he is going to be a huge part of the King’s success and for a little piece of their cap and draft capital, that is going to be great. parrot is going to show why he is a top goalie quick into the season and make Koz look great with where he got him.

Top 3 Worst

  1. Stale       RND 1 pick 3  7M

Koz had a lot of talent to choose from but he decided to go to Stale who is a good player for sure but he is not equivalent to what was on the board at pick 3. Koz wanted to get his D solidified but there were better players that can play D. Now Stale is a good player but I don’t think he can 100% live up to what Koz is expecting.

  1.  CaptCanada  RND 2 pick 6  6M

SP is very slim on defensemen but picking CaptCanada in the second round is a bit of a reach, yes Capt can bring some SP experience and maybe some good vibes in the party but when it comes to winning that just isn’t the play for D men for that pick or even total players.

  1.  Spencer_Knight30   RND 2 pick 8  4M

Now Knight is a good player but compared to the goalies that were left on the board you were better off taking a skater and waiting for the next round. This is going to backfire hard on them because of all the Goalie talent that was left especially for the draft capital they used on him.

Well SP that was my Pre Season rankings,

see you next time

SPNHL Top 10 Teams of NHL 21

Hello SP, it has been a while, hope everyone has had a great summer and offseason from the chel grind.  By popular request a lot of people have been saying how they missed some Tommy SP articles. I decided to stop being such a lazy POS and put in a bit of work on my off day from class.  Over NHL 21, we have seen some super talented SP teams, so I did some digging and compiled a list of the 10 best teams that this league has featured the past year.  Now, over the last 4 seasons 48 teams have been built and I am sure that I may have missed one or two, so if I snubbed your squad let me know.

Let’s get into it!

Honorable Mentions:

S38 New Jersey Devils 36-9-0 (Lost in the ECF)- GM: TrueLegend07

A lot of people might not remember this team but, they were always a tough match up.  The forward line of True, Bstie and Tyrell was one of the best lines in the league. Ajax and Cuban as a top Dpair was above average for the league but Thrice in nets was their difference maker.  They unfortunately got dominated by a better Leafs team in the ECF.  However, 36-9 is the 3rd best record being featured on this list.

S41 New Jersey Devils 31-11-3 Presidents Trophy (Lost in the ECF)- GM: Wardo_05

Wardo made a lot of moves prior to the draft putting his squad into a great position to be dominant early.  Picking up Dud, Smiirk (who he traded for Laffy) and himself as a top forward line was nasty.  Lilj as a number 1 dman and Murray as a starter is also gross.  The depth this team had was unreal as Wardo filled out the remainder of the team with his boy’s stale and dancer among others.  Unfortunately, the team didn’t show up for round 2.

S39 Toronto Maple Leafs 30-14-1 (Lost in the ECF)- GM: toslick

Oh boy, s39 was a crazy season for SPNHL, there were a clear 4 amazing teams and this squad was one of them.  This team so incredibly deep their F core consisted of Bred, stamkos, toslick and smokeshowjoe.  On the back end, they were anchored by Smiirk and Rich, not to mention they had Chad in net.  In the ECF Chad’s internet went down against their toughest match up in the Caps and was replaced by Cookie who stole the show.  Wasn’t enough for them to make it to the SCF tho.

S41 Chicago Blackhawks 30-13-2 (Lost in the WCF)- GM: Fluri37

Fluri took over my Hawks team and didn’t even resign me (THAT’S NUTS).  Out of the gate he picked up Noods and uStoopiid who were both studs for me in the past, at the deadline he built up that squad adding Hardiie and his buddy JohnDean.  Adding those guys to a core of fluri, mikeh, noods, stevie just made them GROSS.  They unfortunately got stopped by a red-hot Kraken team who went on to win the cup.

S40 Philadelphia Flyers 27-13-5 (Lost in the ECF)- GM: Peacekeeper500-

The amount of trades Peace made this season was absolutely absurd for a team as good as it was.  End of the day, his prized stud Aali had an amazing season leading the squad that also featured players like Holland, Bstie, Benji, Sliyum among others (sorry I forgot).  They took the future Stanley cup winner Florida Panthers to game 7 where they nearly won.  Great squad.

Top 10:

A few of these teams could easily be higher or lower on the list but I went based on team accomplishments, records and actual players.

10th: S38 Toronto Maple Leafs 27-13-5 (Lost in the SCF)- GM: toslick

Toslick took over for Chad about midway through the season and this team was in shambles.  Half of their team quit and they needed about 5 roster spots filled.  So toslick did just that, and this team was stacked.  Grammy, Semple, Chico and Slick up top with Shep, Mike holding down the back end and of course Chad in nets.  A lot of people put an asterix next to this team because of the way it was put together but regardless they took the SC Champion Coyotes to 7 games and could’ve easily won this series.

9th: S40 Chicago Blackhawks 35-6-4 Presidents Trophy (Lost in the WCF)- GM: ttommyboiii

Now on paper, this team did not look like a 35-win team but, this was easily one of my favorite teams to manage and we were sneaky dominant.  Myself and Prod as a 1-2 punch up top with a supporting cast of ustoopid, freeze, lekotkaniemi, jake_guentzel, zach and pgh was a great group.  Turtle and shock in net doesn’t look like the most glamorous duo but they were among the best in the league. This team also had an 18-game win streak from mid-week 3 to mid-week 5.  This record of 35-6-4 puts them 2nd ranked out of the 4 seasons only behind another team we will get to later.  Losing to the Ducks in the WCF seemed like a disappointment but we fought hard and lost to the better squad.

8th: S41 Toronto Maple Leafs 31-13-1 (Lost in the SCF)- GM: Chadkillz134

Chad’s squad was stacked.  He had 4 players in Adam, Beanz, Tees and himself who were easily top 3 in the league at their position as well as a great supporting cast of Cruz, Heroic, Neon among others.  This team unfortunately got decimated in the finals, this was easily the most boring SP finals of NHL 21 but none the less this team is among the best and deserves to be on this list.

7th: S39 Dallas Stars 34-9-2 Presidents Trophy (Lost in the WCF)- GM: Yesc__

Speaking of dominant teams, was this team ever dominant.  Yesc added Bean before the draft to himself, Fluri, ustoopid and put together probably one of the best teams created in SP for NHL21.  Adding Neon in net, Fish at the deadline and jagged as a 3rd dman proved they were deep.  The team went crazy in the first 2.5 weeks starting a whopping 22-2 but unfortunately got stopped in the playoffs by the Arizona Coyotes.

6th: S39 Arizona Coyotes 31-11-3 (Lost in the SCF)- GM: xToxiCBoY-_-

Hey it’s me again! One thing that set this team apart from many of the teams on this list is how deep our defense was, having Prod, Noods and Jag rotating always insured that we had 2 great dmen on the ice at all times.  Polar and Josh in net was a great tandem and our F core of me, jenny, salda then adding shadow and Grammy at the deadline solidified us for a deep run.  I did not think we would sweep the stars and I also didn’t think we’d play the Caps as well as we did.  I am proud of this team that I put together.

5th: S40 Anaheim Ducks 21-20-4 (Lost in the SCF)- GM: EL_COOKIE

Cookie’s team was built different to say the least.  The team had terrible availability but when they had their best 6 on the ice, look the fuck out.  Bart/Bart/Hardiie in my opinion is the best forward line this league saw in NHL 21, not only skill wise but the chem was just unbelievable.  This team was 1 defenseman and a great goaltender away from being the best team assembled in SP on NHL 21.  They were the better team throughout the finals in my opinion but they got bested by SP’s goalie goat Chad and company in Florida.

4th: S40 Florida Panthers 31-12-2 (Stanley Cup)- GM: toslick

As much as I hate to give slick compliments because it makes his ego even bigger, this team was special.  He used a similar recipe to his S38 Leafs team except he replaced Semple/grammy with Linde and Jags for Mike, making it even better.  As I just mentioned Chad kind of stole this series for them but this team was also stacked.  Chico, slick and linde also had some great chem up top and Shep and Jags on the back end have been playing together for years.  The depth was also great with guys like shawn, shadow, honest and teamrun.

3rd: S41 Seattle Kraken 27-12-6 (Stanley Cup)- GM: Peacekeeper500-

Peace, this team was easily one of the best teams out of the draft that I’ve ever seen.  Adding Woy and Cpenn in the resign draft and putting them with guys like Kyle, Hatty, sherm and reli was yucky.  Adding BK at the deadline was a little overkill but my boy Cookie got himself a cup after losing the season before.  The Kraken legit shit on the leafs in the finals, probably the easiest cup SP has given out since Sedinpower’s Canes run rampage in the league.  What a squad.

2nd: S39 Washington Capitals 29-14-2 (Stanley Cup)- GM: Curtisx18x

Easily the most hated team in SP during NHL 21.  Without a doubt this is the best team that SP has seen in a very long time.  Elpha, Zinczy and Freakshow up top for a forward line is just insane, Curtis and capsfan with ciulla in net is a crazy good back 3 but they were also deep.  Having guys available on the bench like Jedi, Mike, bigtruss and quizt just made this team ridiculous.  The infamous trap this team played regardless if it was game 7 of the SCF or game 7 of the season had people wanting to bash their head into a wall.  Although the way this team was built had some backlash, anyone with a brain would’ve done the same thing if they were offered what Curtis got.  Props to him and this great team.

1st: S38 Toxiczona Coyotes 39-6-0 Presidents Trophy (Stanley Cup)- GM: xToxiCBoY-_-

Now, I know I’m going to get some hate because I put my team at the top spot but hear me out.  This was the only team in SP NHL21 to win both the Stanley Cup and the Presidents Trophy.  Not to mention they had the best record out of any team in SP during NHL21 in the regular season, as well as winning in the playoffs when it actually mattered.  Upfront the forward core of myself, fluri, fish and bluedevil were all in the top 15 in scoring while we had 3 defensemen with Norris caliber stats in xtracts, noods and Bean.  In net, we had a trio of Neon, Doug and Bean who had ridiculous records.  This was the most fun I’ve had on any virtual hockey team and got myself the coveted SP cup.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading.  Hope everyone’s enjoying the new Chel game, can’t wait to get back to some 6’s hockey.

If you don’t like the article GFY and go make your own

Much love

SPNHL SEASON 41 PRE-SEASON RANKINGS:

Hello SP! The season is about to start so I thought I would take Tommy’s spot this season and make a power ranking for the upcoming season.

The way I will format is I will put my projected standings, each team’s g7 lineup, who I think will win each award, and then lastly I will give a brief analysis of each team and their record.

Eastern Conference:

  1. Devils
  2. Leafs
  3. Caps
  4. Sens
  5. Red Wings
  6. Sabres

Buffalo Sabres: GM- Joeypistol         3-38-2

Now starting it off I have the Sabres at the 6th seed in the east and 12th in the entire league. Just looking at this roster they don’t have the talent that most sp teams have. In the words of Joey “As your gm, we might not win many games but we will have fun that’s all that counts.” Joey and his squad may not win many games if any at all but you bet that they will have a good time. There is one nice spot for their team and it is WhiteTees but he doesn’t have a big enough backpack for them.

LW: Whitetees41

C: M1keal

RW: BaseGodEric-

LD: Uccs1994

RD: JoeyPistol-

G: Shock_r

Detroit Red Wings: GM- Coffey-Lidstrom      20-19-4

With the East being the best division in my opinion there is a toss-up between the 4th seed and the 5th seed and that 5th seed happens to be the Red Wings. On paper, their forward

core looks solid and it is for sure, but their defense core is very weak.

If they can find a way to make Pistolpete work on LD then I could see them snagging the 4th seed but I don’t think their forward core with Tommy, Grammy, and iZinczyi will get the job done. They are all very good players but I don’t think they have the depth and/or the defense to make it happen. Now lastly I don’t think the tandem of Sorokin (Icey) and Cookie will be good but we will see what happens.

LW: grammy

C: iZinczyi

RW: Tommy

LD: Coffey

RD: Freeze

G: Cookie

Ottawa Senators: GM- Reapz        23-17-3

Now with the Sens, Having them with the 4th seed could change very easily but just by looking at the roster and playing against them, I think they will make the playoffs. Their forward core is very solid, they have their top 3 forwards at 9 a week which will be insanely good for them. But their blue line is suspect to me. Having Asticks and uberpwned as their g7 defencemen I don’t think that will help them. Well of course they could slide Kid down to RD if it becomes a problem but overall I see them letting up a tone of goals compared to some of the top teams. Now the forward core with Reapz, Cupi, and Kid is extremely solid, having a defensive player like Kid with some great offensive players like Reap and Cupi will be a good line. They will be a solid team but I don’t see them beating any of the top 3 teams in a bo7 series.

LW: Reapz

C: Kid

RW: Cupi

LD: uberpwned

RD: Asticks

G:Montoni

Washington Capitals: GM- Curtis   25-13-5

With the Ducks losing in the finals last season Cookie stepped down and handed the team to Curtis who relocated to Washington to hopefully win another cup with the Caps. I have them at the 3 seed mainly because they have a heavy carry-in CapBanClark, this team is solid but he puts them above the edge. Now with the Caps, we have another team with a good forward core but a mediocre D-core.

Curtis is a solid defenseman but I don’t think he gave himself any other Dmen to help support his team. Hardie being his best player he will play a huge role on their team. This team when they have all their best players together will be very solid. The one thing I will have a question mark on is their goaltending, they will most likely not have a steady #1 or a #2, I could see them rotating through and few to see what sticks. All said and done I will be excited to see what they do.

LW: Astro

C: BK

RW: Hardie

LD: Curtis

RD: Iamsmokxy

G: Clark

Toronto Maple Leafs: GM- Chadkillz     28-13-2

After just winning a cup Chad decides to GM and take over The Sabres and relocates to Toronto to be a 1st round exit. (all jokes) Chad’s team looks very solid and will win a lot of games. Their Forward core consists of Beanzy, Chief2Step, Heroic, and Chelios These forwards are solid especially Beanzy after coming back after a missed season. This team will score goals and keep pucks out of the net for sure. Their D core consists of Cruuuz who is a very solid player that will be a big piece to their team, Adxm who they got a great deal for to select him 1st overall which I think was a no-brainer. He is extremely solid and this team will have a dangerous g7 lineup.

They have good depth on defense having Chelios, Cuban and xquizT-kys. Yes, these are backup players but they will be solid in helping them push for a cup. Now the GM and their superstar goalie, Chadkillz he will be the main reason they are so high on the power rankings. I could easily see them getting the 1 seed but they don’t have a top forward core or D core, just above average everywhere besides in goal. Overall I think this team will be very good if they can win their games when it’s mainly depth in.

LW: Chief

C: Beanzy

RW: Chelios

LD: Adxm

RD: Cruuuz

G: Chad

New Jersey Devils: GM- Wardo        31-10-2

With the Flames being a first-round exit Cuban decided to step down and brought in a new GM in Wardo, Wardo has one of the biggest egos in the league and his team will show for it and if they don’t you will hear excuses. Jokes aside Wardo built himself a very solid team getting a re-sign of Dudnasty and Murray. His forward core consists of Wardo, Dud, Chips, Dancer, and rookie replay. This forward core will win them a lot of games when avail

is good for them.

Their D core is solid but will have some avail issues. Liljigren was acquired before the draft giving up a 2nd rounder and a 5th but in the deal, they had to have liljigren stuck at 3 games a week even during playoffs. Now their second defensemen is Smiirk, Smirk is a very solid defenseman and a very solid forward as well he can do a lot for you as a player. The only problem with the Devils D core is they aren’t great for avail but they have FiveStarCook who can fill in for them.  When it comes to LD they can have multiple players to fill being Dancer, Dud, and Chips. Their goalie situation is decent having Murray and Rharmer nothing special but solid goalies who will get the job done. This so far is my team to win the cup but who knows what will happen when the season starts.

LW: Chips

C: Smiirk

RW: Wardo

LD:Dud

RD: Liljigren

G: Murray

Western Conference:

  1. Blackhawks
  2. Golden knights
  3. Kraken
  4. Sharks
  5. Avalanche
  6. Jets

Winnipeg jets: GM- Devon        11-27-5

Looking at the Jets roster I don’t see anything that jumps out and looks very good. Devon got some decent LG players but I think they will have a lackluster season. I could see their team doing better if some of their depth players can step up and be a big role on the team. Their D core being Eggman, Devon, and Shyxne is decent but I don’t know if they will get much done.

For their forwards, lxlMLGesuslxl, Lafrenierexl11l, Berrakov, LayTinyPipe, x-Ehlers-27,and  vMinsky35-. Now I don’t know many of these players but after doing some research they seem to be decent players but nothing special compared to some of the other SP forward groups. Their team could surprise me but from what is here right now I don’t see them making playoffs. A bright spot would be their main goalie in ciulla19 and Neon could get them some games but still not enough to shock people.

LW: Lafreniere

C: Berrakov

RW: Laytinypipe

LD: Eggman

RD: xshxyne

G: Ciulla

Colorado Avalanche: GM- Plisk      22-19-2

With Plisk and his Avs missing the playoffs last season I expected him to get a stud with his first-round pick but he got fish who I thought would be a late 1st rounder to an early second-rounder. Looking at the rest of the team his forwards seem decent having, Fish, NJs, Lo-max, back, and iLi2paciLi. It seems pretty decent and will get them some games but I don’t know if it will be enough. Now with the D core, I will imagine Plisk will have himself, X_beaster_x, and Kreaks_. This might be decent but once again I don’t think it will be enough to make the playoffs. Now in the net, they have Turtle and Vandoos, Turtle had just won the Vezina but I don’t see him winning it again especially if they aren’t a playoff team. Overall this team could sneak in and possibly contend but I don’t see it.

LW: Back

C: NJs

RW:FIsh

LD: Beaster

RD: Plisk

G: Turtle

San Jose Sharks: GM- Randy          25-17-2

Randy built himself an overall good roster but I see them just barely being a playoff team. Upfront they look good having JMM, Stonerboy, YoJonsn, and Ivan thygreat, they look decent but seem to not look as good as some other teams, JMM will most likely have to backpack the forward core unless they get near his level and can maybe be one of the higher seeds. The D core is pretty good in having EXE, Randy, and Salda. That seems decent but I don’t know how Randy will be on D. Having Exe on 5 games a week would give Salda a lot of time playing defense for them which I don’t think will go well for them. Hopefully, they can win as many games when they have their best players in. Now lastly their Goaltending they have Bufford and Papa Johns. Bufford will be a good starting goalie and I will have to see how good Papa Johns’s is before I judge them. Overall this team could be good but we will have to see.

LW: JMM

C: Stonerboy

RW:yoJonsn

LD:Exe

RD: Randy

G: Bufford

Seattle Kraken: GM- Peacekeeper 26-15-2

Peace decided to go into the re-sign draft and walked out with some studs, he got Cpenn, Woy, and Liljigren (who he traded to NJ). Peace built himself a good squad but seems to be lacking on defense, their defense consists of Kylej, peace, taxi, and kwhiss.

This d core looks very lackluster but it could potentially be decent. They could be good enough to get backpacked by the forwards but I still see them only being the 3 seed in the West. Now the Forwards is where it gets very good, Seattle has Woy, Cpenn, Scarpetti, and j_sherminator as the core of their forwards. This is very solid and could be a huge part of a potential playoff run. I don’t know much about the goalies but from what I have seen it shouldn’t be a weak point.

LW:Scarpetti

C:Cpenn

RW:J_sherminator

LD: Woy

RD:Kyle

G:Peace

Vegas Golden Knights: GM- Toslick     29-10-4

The reigning Champ GM Toslick is coming back in black and gold. Toslick once again built himself a nice roster. This team I had trouble with giving them the 1 seed or the 2 seed but I ended up deciding on the 2 seed. The top 2 seeds in the west are so close in my opinion they could be interchangeable. The best part of Toslick’s team is the D men. They seem to be super solid with some versatility. That isn’t me saying his forwards are bad but they aren’t near what their defensemen are. Toslick is bringing back a very similar forward core of Toslick, Linde, Teamrun, and shawn. Now I hyped up their defense now I’ll show you who they have, they got bstieboy, Aetherxal, DougCBJ, and vVxsion. That is a great top 4. Now I don’t know who they will play mainly in the net but same as the Kraken it for sure will not be a weak spot but it isn’t like Toslick’s old backpack Chad 😉

LW: Teamrun/Aetherxal

C: Linde

RW: Toslick

LD: Doug

RD: bstieboy

G: prod/medeiros

Chicago Blackhawks: GM- Fluri        32-10-3

Now with The Blackhawks getting the reigning Selke Trophy winner as their GM you would think he would spend up on forwards… No Fluri put most of his assets into his blue line. His D-core consists of Noods, ustoopid, purch, and maybe Fluri a little bit. Overall you can see that this blue line is very offensive which will play well with Fluri and help them keep a very good two-way game. His forwards are where his talent starts to drop off having Fluri, Mikehthegod, ZacharyDuhaiame, osvechnikov , and xguentzel. He will have Billcrxsby and dguid between the pipes which could potentially be a problem but I think they will make it work. This team will be very solid especially when they get all of their top players in. Their depth will be decent enough to not go 0-3 in nights when they all play but nothing special. Overall this team is very good but I still don’t think they are the best in the league.

LW: ustoopid/noods

C:Fluri

RW:mikehthegod

LD:noods/ustoopid

RD:purch

G:billcrxsby/dguid

Overall team power rankings:  (DISCLAIMER): This list is based on the teams and their skill and not their record

  1.  Devils
  2. Leafs
  3. Blackhawks
  4. Caps
  5. Knights
  6. Sens
  7. Kraken
  8. Redwings
  9. Sharks
  10.  Jets
  11. Avs
  12. Sabres

Award Predictions: With this, I will just give each individual award that I think will happen.

Maurice Richard: WARDO_05

Now with the Maurice Richard, I think it will go to Wardo mainly because he was on pace to get a crap tone of goals if he was 9/9 last season and he has only gotten better and more selfish. Wardo will most likely be playing around 40 games so with his no r2 button mentality he will win the Maurice Richard, and with some help from Dudnasty.

Hart Memorial Trophy: Dudnastyy

Now you could say I am biased with giving the first two to Devils, but Dud is an LGNHL g7 D man who is a great player and will be playing 8/9 games a week. He will be playing mixes of forward and LD but he will dominate either way. Last season Dud had a 3.6 ppg and that was playing with very mediocre teams and if the Devils win the east he will most likely up that. Dud will also be playing D (4th forward) and he will most likely be a top d man.

Art Ross: WARDO_05

Now I think since Wardo will be 9/9 and will be a top forward once again he will end up with the most points in the league just due to the talent around him and his already very high level of play. Now, this could of course be wrong but I believe in him getting this award.

Frank J. Selke: Fluri37

Fluri is the reigning Selke winner and I think he will repeat, after playing with him I saw how steady he was as a defensive forward and the team he has constructed will give put him in the right position again to get the Selke. He is probably the best defender as a forward and he will show that in his play and his stats now that is why I am giving Fluri The Selke

Norris Memorial: uStooPiiD

For the Norris, I had to do some more thinking than some of the other ones but the second I saw that uStooPiiD was 9 a week I automatically knew that he had the best shot at winning. Now I think he will get games on forward but for sure when he is on the blue line he will be dominating. Having played against him I can confidently say he is a top D man in SP.

Vezina Trophy: Chadkillz134

Now I wasn’t going to make a random pick or something that nobody expects. I am going with the same pick with Chad. Chad has been the best goalie in SP for a fair bit now and I don’t think he slows down. He will be on a very good team and will most likely be a high seed. Chad is honestly the safest pick here as he was amazing in the Finals to win himself a cup and a Conn Smythe.

Bill Masterton: SHOCK_R

Now for this award, I knew that Shock would be the most likely because he has won it before and is in a similar situation and I know that Shock is a good sportsman and respectable person. If Buffalo is as bad as I think they will be I know that Shock will not bail on them but he will keep his spirits high and finish it off.

Lady Byng: Punjabidancer (just kidding) Kidmon3y

Kid is a great player who I don’t think will take many penalties. He will maintain his high level of play and staying disciplined at the same time to get him this award. This would be the second time that Kid gets this award which is also why this wouldn’t shock me.

King Clancy: Ushkilledya

With this award, I think Ush will get it as he has done so much for this community in supporting players in the community with their streaming, and he has donated to the community. Ush stays nontoxic but is still a fun player who understands trash talk. Overall Ush does a lot for the community and deserves this award.

Jack Adams: Fluri37

I think Fluri will win the Jack Adams purely off his team winning the President’s Trophy. He has built a good team that compliments each other and he will have a good team and will win the Jack Adams as the owner that did their job at the highest level.

Calder memorial: CRuuuuuuuZ80

Now after looking at some of the rookies I see one that stands above the rest and that is Cruuuz, Cruuuz is a really good player and was picked high for a reason. He is solid defensively and can still hop into a play and create offense. He is a really solid player and will make an impact right away.

NHL Plus-Minus: Fluri47

Now with this award I just looked at the best teams and decided who I think from those teams would have the best +/- and with Fluri I think he will have a good defensive team and they will still score a lot. Other factors being his team winning a lot of games and his games played.

William M. Jennings: Chadkillz134

With this award, I am going  Chad because his team will win games and they will very good defensively. Now lastly Chad will be very good himself so that will come with him letting in the least amount of goals.

Thanks for reading this article, let’s have a great season.

SPNHL S40 Final All-star Tournament Details

EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ASG IS IN THIS ARTICLE, IF I MISSED SOMETHING PLEASE LET ME KNOW

With only 2 days until the highly-anticipated tournament, I finally was able to get the roster’s finalized.  The reason behind me nominating 8 forwards, 5 defence and 3 goalies per conference was in case players were unable to make the games, it’s a good thing I did.  With only a few East forwards able to attend I had to think quickly on my feet.  In total I had 10 forwards, 9 defencemen and 6 goalies, leaving me with an extra defenseman and 2 extra goalies.  Just wanted to apologize to the 3 players who will not be playing Friday (Unless someone backs out then I’ll message u ASAP)

  1. captstalechips (D): Sorry buddy based on East defensemen stats you were the odd man out, still a huge accomplishment to be voted in by your peers.
  2. SliyumShady (G) : One of my long time Chel pals, the other 2 east goalies were nominated in by GMs and were therefore given priority which made you the odd man out.
  3. Itsjustskillzz_ (G): This one was tough one because I know Skillz is a great goalie however, out of the 3 goalies in the west, you had the least number of votes and therefore, were the odd man out.

Newest Additions:

  1. TopCheeseNeon F 29GP 57G 38A 95PTS: Had the next highest votes for Eastern Conference Forwards, congrats you rodent.
  2. vBartlett F 23GP 27G 53A 80PTS: Had the highest total forward votes in both conferences (I already had an odd number of forwards per conference and Bart deserved to play so I said why not).

Final Rosters

With now 8 forwards representing the western conference, I had to move 2 of you guys to play with the East (I did a randomizer list and Triix and Fish were chosen to go play for the East).  With no real benefit for winning, I figured this could still work out to be some fun competitive games even with West forwards on East teams.

When making the teams, I tried to balance them as much as possible while also keeping current or former teammates together.

SPNHL S40 Week 5 Power Rankings/ASG Nominees/Playoffs Round 1

Looking like my predictions were super spot on for week 5, the first one of my Blackhawks securing the Presidents Trophy was true. The east round 1 playoff predictions also came true and unfortunately for the Stars they missed the playoffs by 1 point.

Week 4 Power Rankings:

  1.  Chicago Blackhawks
  2.  Florida Panthers
  3.  Pittsburgh Penguins
  4.  Philadelphia Flyers
  5.  San Jose Sharks
  6.  Ottawa Senators
  7.  Buffalo Sabres
  8.  Anaheim Ducks
  9.  Calgary Flames
  10.  Dallas Stars
  11.  Colorado Avalanche
  12.  Tampa Bay Lightning

Week 5 Power Rankings:

  1. Chicago Blackhawks (-)
  2. Florida Panthers (-)
  3. Pittsburgh Penguins (-)
  4. San Jose Sharks (+1)
  5. Philadelphia Flyers (-1)

  8. Calgary Flames (+1)
  9. Dallas Stars (+1)
  10.  Buffalo Sabres (-3)
  11. Colorado Avalanche (-)
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning (-)

Not much movement throughout the final week of the season, the Blackhawks, Panthers and Penguins all maintain their top 3 spots with 8-1, 6-3 and 5-2-2 weeks respectfully.  The sharks move back into the top 4 with a decent 5-3-1 week 5.

Flyers move out of the top 4 with a shitty 3-4-2 week but have a good playoff matchup against the Penguins inbound.  The Sens, Ducks and Flames all went 6-3 in week 5 and round out the middle 4 of the PRs.

The bottom 4 stays super similar to previous weeks with the Lightning and Avalanche at the 11 and 12 spot.  The Stars had a 6-2-1 week which would’ve been fantastic in any other circumstance but they sadly missed playoffs by one spot and point.  The Sabres completed their fun enforcer week and dropped 3 spots into 10th

SPNHL, Season 40: Week Four – Players of the Week

By: ProdigyToLegend

Welcome back to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 40. I apologize for this being a day late, I was too busy having a life. Anyways, trade deadline has officially passed, and rosters are being finalized for hopeful playoff runs. There were quite a few deals that might make huge differences in the playoffs, and others maybe not so much. But anyways, without further ado, let’s see which players stepped up before the deadline.

Forwards:

Hardiie-: 7 GP, 16 G, 15 A, 31 P, 4.4 PPG, +11, 116 GV, 18 TK, 27 INT

A third of the Ducks trio, Hardie wins himself player of the week for week 4. Hardie and the Bartlett brothers have taken the league by storm on Anaheim, pretty much dominating any opposition in their path. With 16 goals and 15 assists in week 4, good enough for a 4.4 point per game, Hardie shows why the Ducks are a force to be reckoned with, and that they can and will outscore their opposition.

Honorable Mentions:

Mrlolchico13: 6 GP, 7 G, 19 A, 26 P, 4.3 PPG, +11, 60 GV, 19 TK, 47 INT

ttommyboii: 9 GP, 20 G, 11 A, 31 P, 3.4 PPG, +17, 131 GV, 41 TK, 80 INT

vBartlett: 5 GP, 12 G, 11 A, 23 P, 4.6 PPG, +4, 49 GV, 15 TK, 20 INT

Defence:

Jaguarknight_: 7 GP, 3 G, 13 A, 16 P, 2.3 PPG, +11, 60 GV, 15 TK, 47 INT.

Jaguarknight had himself an incredible week in week 4, putting up 16 points in the 7 games he played. On top of his offensive production, he had 15 takeaways and 47 interceptions. One of the best RDs, if not the best RD in the league in my mind, Jaguar will always be a tough battle for any opposing forward to go up against. If he keeps up his offensive production on top of his known defensive abilities, Jaguar could quietly be the MVP of the playoffs.

Honorable Mentions:
MPurch: 9 GP, 5 G, 8 A, 13 P, 1.4 PPG, +2, 36 GV, 24 TK, 46 INT.

Benji_Frank_100: 6 GP, 0 G, 10 A, 10 P, 1.7 PPG, +10, 41 GV, 16 TK, 38 INT.

Kidmon3y: 9 GP, 2 G, 8 A, 8 P, 0.9 PPG, +19. 34 GV, 22 TK, 46 INT.

Goalie:

Nocturnal_Turtle: 5 GP, 5-0, .909 SV%, 1.20 GAA, 2 SO.

On a team with a bunch of loudmouth forwards who never shutup, Turtle is the one who outshines them all with his outstanding week. Going a perfect 5-0 with a .909 save percentage, Turtle did everything the Blackhawks have asked of him. Allowing under 2 goals per game, Turtle will need to keep up these performances in order for the Blackhawks to have a deep run. They have a tough road ahead of them, and they’ll need Turtle to play as best he can for all of it.

Honorable Mention:

CapBan_Clark1999: 6 GP, 5-1, .857 SV%, 2.33 GAA, 0 SO.chadkillz134: 8 GP, 6-2, .819 SV%, 2.13 GAA, 0 SO

SPNHL S40 Week 4 Power Rankings

Chicago now sitting 7 points up on the Sharks for 1st in the west (like I predicted).  Florida did have a comeback week but only good enough for 2nd in the league while the Ducks did not pull away from the rest of the west (yet).

Week 3 Power Rankings:

  1. Philadelphia Flyers
  2. San Jose Sharks
  3. Chicago Blackhawks
  4. Florida Panthers
  5. Pittsburgh Penguins
  6. Ottawa Senators
  7. Buffalo Sabres
  8. Anaheim Ducks
  9. Dallas Stars
  10.  Calgary Flames
  11. Colorado Avalanche
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning

Week 4 Power Rankings:

  1.  Chicago Blackhawks (+2) 9-0
  2.  Florida Panthers (+2) 6-3
  3.  Pittsburgh Penguins (+2) 7-1-1
  4.  Philadelphia Flyers (-3) 5-3-1
  5.  San Jose Sharks (-3) 5-3-1
  6.  Ottawa Senators (-) 4-5
  7.  Buffalo Sabres (-) 5-4-1
  8.  Anaheim Ducks (-) 3-4-2
  9.  Calgary Flames (+1) 5-2-2
  10.  Dallas Stars (-1) 3-5-1
  11.  Colorado Avalanche (-) 1-7-1
  12.  Tampa Bay Lightning (-) 1-8

Sitting pretty with a 6-point gap on 2nd place in the league is the Chicago Blackhawks, a perfect 9-0 week 4 and 14 game win streak earns them this top spot.  After a 0-3 Monday night, the Panthers woke up and won 6 games in a row which is good enough for a 1 point lead on 2nd in the East.  Penguins had an amazing week going 7-1-1 and are only 1 point behind the Panthers in the standings.  The Flyers cooled off a bit with a 5-3-1 week which is good enough for 4th in PR and 3rd in the East.

The middle 4 stays exactly the same except for the Sharks who fell 3 spots after going 5-3-1 week 4 and losing the top spot in the west.  Ottawa, Buffalo and Anaheim stay put after yet another mediocre week for all these teams.

The bottom 4 also stays pretty similar other than Calgary leap frogging the Stars for number 9 in the PR and 4th place in the west.  The Flames had a great week going 5-2-2 getting 14/18 possible points.  Stars fall out of a playoff spot but are in striking distance while the Avs and Lightning are preparing for the offseason putting together only 1 win each.

Who’s Hot

Chicago Blackhawks:

9-0 Week 4, 14 wins in a row, enough said that the Hawks are the real deal.  Another solid week should secure these guys 1st place in the west and a president’s trophy.  Hawks on top baby!

Pittsburgh Penguins:

It is safe to say that SP should no longer sleep on the Penguins in the East.  A couple deadline moves from rookie secures this roster as clear contenders in the East and the league.  With 9 games left, if the Penguins can secure another week just like week 4, they can easily take first in the East which would be HUGE.

Calgary Flames:

Speaking of teams who had great trade deadline, Cuban’s squad did just that.  For the 2nd week in a row this team goes above .500 and finally moves into the final playoff spot in the west.  With Dallas and Anaheim poised to have great weeks also, this team needs to remain hot or else they’ll be golfing come next Monday.

Who’s Cold

Philadelphia Flyers:

With playoffs around the corner, will the shuffling of roster for Peacekeeper’s team bite him in the butt? A down week of 5-3-1 moved these guys into 3rd in the stacked East.  Playing Florida in round 1 would be a huge disappointment for this roster so they need to have bounce back week and retake that #1 spot or else they could easily be outed round 1.

San Jose Sharks:

A 0-3 Friday night pretty much threw a wrench in their hopes of 1st place in the West however, they still have 9 more games to try and recover.  Playing the Ducks or Flames in round 1 could be the difference between a first-round exit or a deeper playoff run for this squad.  I do expect a bounce back week for Randy and the boys, look out for at least 6 wins from them.

Bold Predictions:

  1. Blackhawks secure that Presidents Trophy: I really don’t see the Hawks choking this 6-point lead, the team hasn’t lost more than 3 games in a week this season and have been playing their best hockey of the season.
  2. Panthers vs Senators, Flyers vs Penguins:  It will be an insane battle for the standings in the East. Ultimately, I think the Panthers who’ve won 6 games in a row maintain the top spot while the Battle of Pennsylvania will be probably the best 1st round matchup in the league.
  3. Stars have a great week but miss playoffs by 1 point: I really like the way Devon retooled his team yet again at the deadline.  However, the Flames and Ducks are both hungry teams and will have great weeks as well.  I believe the difference between 3rd and 5th in the West will be separated by 2-3 points.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! I love constructive feedback and discussing things I might’ve missed, my dms are open! If you hated it, then too bad go write your own article!

Good luck week 5 SP!

All-star voting can be found by clicking here (All-Star Vote)

Western Conference

Anaheim Ducks: Hardiie- F 20GP 54G 38A 92PTS 4.6PPG

One of the league premier goal scorers and wingers, this was an easy selection for Cookieman’s squad.

Calgary Flames: Wardo_05 F 23GP 30G 62A 92PTS 4PPG

When Cuban acquired Wardo from Philly, he definitely had some high expectations and this young man delivered. Season 39’s Calder winner is one of the main reason’s the Flames are in a playoff position.

Chicago Blackhawks: FreezeMothaSucka D 23GP 3G 14A 17PTS 0.7PPG 5.7 GA:TK

Freeze is easily one of the best shut down defensemen that SPNHL has to offer and has been the backbone for this 1st place Blackhawks squad.

Colorado Avalanche: Lo-Maximus F 17GP 14G 27A 41PTS 2.4PPG

The reason why Lomax has been traded so many times this season is because everyone wants this guy on their team.  Great forward even better guy, much deserved.

Dallas Stars: Eggman—1 D 27GP 2G 26A 28PTS 1PPG 3.56 GA:TK

Playing on a mediocre Stars team for a good chunk of the season and putting up these numbers is pretty impressive for a guy like Eggman.  He will help his team battle for a playoff spot down the stretch.

San Jose Sharks: Mpurch D 36GP 9G 37A 46PTS 1.3PPG 4.31 GA:TK

Watching Purch grow over the past few seasons has been unreal, he turned into a guy who was an afterthought in the draft to someone battling for the Norris, congrats buddy.

Eastern Conference

Buffalo Sabres: Semple19 F 14GP 18G 13A 31PTS 2.2PPG

Semple is a great all around winger who is among the best in the league at his position.  Playing in Buffalo, a team who struggles to score and putting up respectable stats is a nice accomplishment.

Florida Panthers: Chadkillz134 G 34GP 24W 10L 82.12SV% 2.53GAA 4SO

I mean, Slick had so many guys to choose from on his team but I think he nailed his selection in Chad. Countless Vezina trophies and phenomenal stats earned him a spot, no brainer here.

Ottawa Senators: Jeiel9876 G 23GP 15W 8L 81.88SV% 3.52 GAA 2SO

Speaking of great goaltending, Jeiel is a guy who is most definitely an all-star.  Probably the busiest goalie in terms of shots faced and carrying a 15-8 record with a just under 82 save% is insane, congrats man.

Philadelphia Flyers: AAli-21 F 28GP 55G 63A 118PTS 4.2PPG

Another no brainer selection, Aali is having himself an incredible season leading this Flyers squad, well-deserved all-star.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Fluri37 F 26GP 36G 58A 94PTS 3.6PPG

Patches McFlurGod, this guy does it all and s40’s first overall pick is an all-star. Fluri is the penguins most important player and shows it day in and day out, congrats buddy.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Scotch-x4 14GP 18G 13A 31PTS 2.2PPG

Spending most of the season with the Senators, Scotch was a great C in between Cupi and Reapz, after moving to Tampa at the deadline, he is one of the few talented players on his roster.

Thanks to all the GM’s for their picks! Congrats to everyone who was selected and good luck to those in the vote.

The vote will close on next Sunday June 6th at 11:59pm.

By the looks of it, we’re looking to have this seasons All-star game on Friday June 10th at 9pm, (With a special surprise after) Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

SPNHL S40 Week 3 Power Rankings

In an attempt to keep things consistent, I’m going with the same format as last week.  There were many trades and roster moves this week and we are starting to see who the contenders and pretenders are in SPNHL this season.  I went 1/3 with my bold predictions last week, The Flyers did leap frog the Panthers (even though they’re tied in points).  Dallas went 4-5 which I wouldn’t consider turning their season around and Tampa still hasn’t won a game since night 3 of the season.

Week 2 Power Rankings:

  1. Florida Panthers
  2. Philadelphia Flyers
  3. Chicago Blackhawks
  4. San Jose Sharks
  5. Ottawa Senators
  6. Pittsburgh Penguins
  7. Colorado Avalanche
  8. Buffalo Sabres
  9. Dallas Stars
  10. Anaheim Ducks
  11. Calgary Flames
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning

Week 3 Power Rankings:

  1. Philadelphia Flyers (+1)
  2. San Jose Sharks (+2)
  3. Chicago Blackhawks (-)
  4. Florida Panthers (-3)
  5. Pittsburgh Penguins (+1)
  6. Ottawa Senators (-1)
  7. Buffalo Sabres (+1)
  8. Anaheim Ducks (+2)
  9. Dallas Stars (-)
  10.  Calgary Flames (+1)
  11. Colorado Avalanche (-4)
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning (-)

Figuring out this top 4 was a bit difficult especially because all 4 teams have 40 points and are tied for 1st in the league. However, Philadelphia’s 7-2 week and best goal differential in the league earned them the top spot.  San Jose had yet another amazing week at 7-2 making them jump 2 spots into 2nd while Chicago and Florida round off the top 4 with records of 6-2-1 and 5-3-1 respectfully.

The middle 4 also stayed consistent other than 1 team.  Pittsburgh had an impressive 6-2-1 week which moved them in front of Ottawa in the standings and the power rankings.  The Sens had a down week going 4-4-1 but still sitting pretty in the 4th and final playoff spot in the East.  Buffalo’s 4-3-2 week still has them on the outside looking in while the Ducks go 4-4-1 and bump Colorado out of the middle 4 of the power rankings.

Dallas also doesn’t move out of the 9 spot or the 4th and final playoff spot in the west.  Here comes the Flames, this squad went 4-3-2 the past week and are gaining on the Stars only 2 points back.  Colorado’s 3-6 week moves them into the bottom 2 but good news is they’re only 2 points back of the Stars.  Tampa’s 2nd winless week in a row keeps them in the basement.

Who’s Hot

Philadelphia Flyers:

Staying hot for the 2nd week in a row is the Flyers.  The team is looking very different than it did at the start of week 3 but going into week 4 they still look scary.  After a 7-2 week, they move into a tie for 1st place in the East and in the league.  Acquiring Bstie will solidify their backend and will play great alongside Benji.  They also picked up 2nd overall pick Hypey who will form one of the best dynamic duos up top with Aali.  Anything less than a 6-win week for this squad will be a disappointment.

San Jose Sharks:

I went on this huge rant talking about how top teams shouldn’t change over their core of the roster but it looks like it’s working out for the Sharks.  A 7-2 week for them is good enough to put them for a tie for 1st in both the west and the league.  The duo of Triix and Fish seems to be clicking and firing on all cylinders while Mpurch quietly continues his Norris season.  If they want to keep competing for that top spot in the west they’re going to need another 7-win week and beat the Blackhawks.

Calgary Flames:

25-5, that was the score of their game against the Lightning Friday night.  Cuban did a great job retooling his roster and getting a solid forward line to help compete for a playoff spot in the west.  The acquisitions of Jhardy, Jmm and Wardo are huge additions to the squad.  Predator outside of his plus/minus is putting up respectable stats, they’re going to be playing meaningful hockey for the rest of the season as they have a huge week against Western Conference opponents.

Who’s Cold

Florida Panthers:

Tied for first in the league yet they’re cold, I’ll explain.  With the roster the Panthers have on paper, a 0-2-1 night that they had on Tuesday is just straight up unacceptable.  Slick after Tuesday completely rebuilt his roster picking up Chad and solidifying his goaltending situation for the rest of the year.  A 5-3-1 week 3 allowed the Flyers to tie them and surpass them based on goal differential.  This team will have to turn things around week 4 if they want that Presidents Trophy.

Colorado Avalanche:

Unfortunately for Pliskin and the Avalanche, they had a 3-6 week and got pushed into a tie for the basement in the West.  Good news for them is they’re only 2 points back of 3rd place and will get their number 1 defenceman in Doug back for next week.  A week against Western Conference opponents will be make or break for this team going into week 5.  Another 3-6 week and a good week by another team will pretty much send them to the golf course.

Tampa Bay Lightning:

The Lightning have lost 19 games in a row, a disaster of a season is in the making for Icey’s team and they’re not looking any better going into week 4.  The last time they won a game was May 7th against the Dallas Stars however, their team was much different looking than it is now.  The next team to drop a game against these guys will be the laughing stock of the league.  Good news is that there is only 6 more game days left until they can start thinking about next season.

Bold Predictions:

  1. Chicago starts to pull away from the Sharks: Both games between these teams are crucial games and could be the difference of who takes the lead in the west.  The Hawks have only lost 2 games in regulation in the past 2 weeks and have been stealing points from teams late in games all season.  Look out for Chicago’s first 7+ win week in week 4.
  • Florida has a comeback week and moves into the lead for 1st in the league:  With only 1 game against the Flyers and 2 games against the Lightning, the Panthers have a solid opportunity to have a great week 4. Especially after the mediocre week 3, these guys are going to be motivated to play and win.  A 7-2 week for them looks like a very real possibility.
  • Anaheim starts to pull away from the bottom of the West: A team of this caliber should not be below .500 in this league. Whatever internal problems that going on they need to snap out of it because they have the talent to go the distance.  With 6/9 games against, Colorado, Dallas, Calgary and Tampa, they have the perfect opportunity to explode for minimum 6 wins this week.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! I love constructive feedback and discussing things I might’ve missed, my dms are open! If you hated it, then too bad go write your own article!

Good luck week 4 SP!

SPNHL, Season 40: Week Two/Three – Players of the Week

By: ProdigyToLegend

Welcome back to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 40. I apologize for missing week 2, as Plisk and I had a bit of miscommunication and we couldn’t get an article out in time. So instead, we’re just going to combine week 2 and week 3 into one article edition. We have had a great season so far, and in my opinion, the East is clearly the better division. However, there is tremendous talent in both conferences, so without further ado, let’s see who stood out amongst the rest in week 2 and 3.

Forwards:

AAli-21: 18 GP, 33 G, 38 A, 71 P, 4.4 PPG, +31, 190 GV, 53 TK, 112 INT

Literally playing every single minute for the Flyers in the past 2 weeks, Ali stood out above the rest of the forwards in week 2 and 3. Playing all 18 games for the Flyers, Ali had 33 goals and 38 assists, good enough for a 4.4 point per game, and first in points for forwards in the past 2 weeks. The clear leader on the ice for the Flyers, if the Flyers are going to go on a cup run in a tough Eastern conference, Ali will need to perform.

Honorable Mentions:

WARDO_05: 12 GP, 19 G, 40 A, 59 P, 4.9 PPG, +26, 107 GV, 56 TK, 83 INT

ttommyboii: 18 GP, 33 G, 36 A, 69 P, 3.8 PPG, +29, 273 GV, 55 TK, 89 INT

Fluri37: 13 GP, 19 G, 31 A, 50 P, 3.8 PPG, +25, 312 GV, 53 TK, 132 INT

Defence:

kidmon3y: 18 GP, 4 G, 15 A, 19 P, 1.1 PPG, +27, 51 GV, 46 TK, 9 INT.

Kidmoney has had an outstanding season so far for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and is a huge reason as to why the Penguins currently sit 3rd in a stacked Eastern conference. Tallying 4 goals and 15 assists in the past 2 weeks, what put Kid above the rest in my mind was the fact that he had great offensive production, and still was safe with the puck. He almost had a 1:1 ratio just based on giveaway and takeaways alone. The Penguins are going to need Kid to keep up his tremendous season, as they are going to be in for tough battles in the coming weeks.

Honorable Mentions:
MPurch: 18 GP, 2 G, 19 A, 21 P, 1.2 PPG, +7, 110 GV, 41 TK, 118 INT.

captstalechips: 15 GP, 1 G, 15 A, 16 P, 1.1 PPG, +26, 66 GV, 28 TK, 88 INT.

Aetherxal: 13 GP, 3 G, 8 A, 11 P, 0.8 PPG, +26. 73 GV, 46 TK, 126 INT.

Goalie:

chadkillz124: 18 GP, 12-6, .815 SV%, 3.06 GAA, 2 SO.

Chad had an incredible 2 week performance again, and while not up to his usual expectations of himself, he still outperformed the rest of the goaltenders in the league. With a 12-6 record and a .815 save percentage, Chad will now hopefully settle down in his new home and get used to his friendly faces as teammates. The SP community knows Chad is the goaltender to look out for in a game or a playoff series, as if any one man can steal a game or series, it’s Chad.

Honorable Mention:

Jelel9876: 12 GP, 8-4, .800 SV%, 3.50 GAA, 1 SO.PEACEKEEPER500-: 5 GP, 5-0, .893 SV%, 1.20 GAA, 2 SO
