SPNHL, Season 39: Week One – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 39: Week One – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend
Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39. I am back with the weekly Player of the Week articles to fuel your egos and give you something to brag about for a solid 10 minutes before going back to irrelevancy (kidding). The first week had some high scoring players, so without further ado, let’s get into it.
Forwards:
Iam-beanzy: 8 GP, 19 G, 13 A, 32 P, 4.0 PPG, +23, 148 GV, 23 TK, 44 INT
Beanzy earns the first player of the week among forwards in Season 39. This shouldn’t be surprising to most people, as Bean has a history of earning awards in SP, and yet again proves why he is one of the best players in the league. With 19 goals and 13 assists in week 1 with a +23, he helped his Dallas Stars to an 8-1 week and first place in the league. Will Bean make Tommy regret trading him at the draft? So far, it looks like it.
Honorable Mentions:
LeCupidon: 9 GP, 22 G, 16 A, 38 P, 4.2 PPG, -2, 129 GV, 17 TK, 43 INT
GrammyHands: 9 GP, 20 G, 13 A, 33 P, 3.7 PPG, +1, 148 GV, 30 TK, 63 INT
NTyrrell14: 9 GP, 14 G, 17 A, 31 P, 3.4 PPG, +8, 90 GV, 24 TK, 39.
Defence:
uStooPiiD: 7 GP, 3 G, 11 A, 14 P, 2.0 PPG, +15, 38 GV, 16 TK, 43 INT.
A new entrant to my player of the week articles, Dallas gets another player on the player of the week award. Stoopiid had an incredible week, having 3 goals and 11 assists with a +15. He currently leads all defenders in points and didn’t even play the full week last week. We will see if he is a product of Dallas, or if he is going to be one of the players Dallas relies on to show up night in and night out to be successful.
Honorable Mentions:
DougCBJ: 9 GP, 2 G, 11 A, 13 P, 1.4 PPG, +7, 30 GV, 29 TK, 72 INT.
LouieDeuce8: 8 GP, 0 G, 12 A, 12 P, 1.5 PPG, +27, 62 GV, 26 TK, 54 INT.
Curtisx18x: 5 GP, 1 G, 10 A, 11 P, 2.2 PPG, +22. 26 GV, 9 TK, 21 INT.
Goalie:
Polar-1387: 6 GP, 5-1, .844 SV%, 1.67 GAA, 1 SO.
Polar earns his first player of the week on the season, and it was definitely a close decision between him and the honorable mentions. It honestly could’ve went to anyone, but I gave it to Polar on his GAA category since save percentages were very close. With a .844 save percentage but allowing under 2 goals per game, Polar played very well in his first week. With a very good defensive Arizona team in front of him, Polar is the final nail in the coffin for the Yotes to frustrate other teams offensively. Getting by the defence and Polar will be a challenge for any team to face, and I’m curious to see if any team is up for the challenge.
Honorable Mention:
TopCheeseNeon: 7 GP, 6-1, .857 SV%, 2.00 GAA, 1 SO.
ciulla19: 6 GP, 5-1, .846 SV%, 2.00 GAA, 0 SO

Season 39 Pre-Season Prediction

Season 39 Pre-Season Prediction

So with the door closed on Season 38 and Arizona’s run from bell to bell to win the cup we have a new start and a group of GM’s (Old & New)  looking to dethrone Arizona and claim this seasons greatest prize the Stanley Cup

So here is what season 39 looks like at this moment….

Who’s Back

Tommy – Arizona
El Rookie – Montreal
Sportsgeek – LA
Icey – NYI
Truelegend – NJ
Plisk – Colorado
Reaper – Ottawa (formerly Seattle)
Toslick – Toronto

Who’s New

Curtis – Washington
Cuban – Calgary
Yesc – Dallas
Exe – San Jose

So with the existing GM’s Reaper moved from the West leaving Seattle and went to the East taking over Ottawa
Curtis took over St. Louis and moved them to Washington
Cuban took over Florida and moved to Calgary
Yesc took over Chicago and moved to Dallas
Exe took over Philly and moved to San Jose

So with Season 39 GM’s now picked and set it was time for the draft…
There was some trades that took place and some picks made and not to get into too much detail here it lead to a great draft night and after the dust settled here are what the teams rosters look like and here are the starting lineups for the teams told to me by the GM’s in charge

I am gonna breakdown these rosters and lineups and give my best prediction to what the current roster outcome could be

***these could change by the time you read this and also these are just regular season lineups and not what you might see come playoffs***

East

Toronto

We will start with the Eastern Conference defending champs.  Toslick kept Chad and Grammy but traded Gram before the draft to the NYI for the 1st round 6th pick.  Now with two 1st round picks Toslick wasted zero time picking up Smiirk LD and a few picks later Smokeshow Joe C

Toronto Roster after the Draft

RW – toslick
G – Chadkillz134
LD – SMiiRK-_-
C – SMOKESHOWJOE
RW – xB-Red94
RD – harkov47
LW – Dptickler
LW – CapBan_Clark1999
RD – Wheelchairdevon8
LW – LumberMango-
G – Shock_r

Starting Line
LW – xB-Red94
C – SMOKESHOWJOE
RW – toslick
LD – SMiiRK-_-
RD – harkov47
G – Chadkillz134

Just with Chad in net this team is playoff bound but with additions of Smiirk who has amazing stats in VGAHL and B-Red in LGAHL last season had 97 points in 26 games add in there toslick and havok and good old SmokeshowJoe, toslick is looking to finish what he started last season and bring home that cup.

Prediction: Season Record 30-15  Playoffs: Yes

New Jersey

Last season True and the Devils had a great run during the regular season to fall short of the Finals to Toronto.  True’s roster from last season is gone with Thrice, DetAjax and bstieboy all did not signing up for this season and Cuban leaving to become a GM True went into the predraft resign and started rebuilding his team by picking up stamkos, Jeiel and Bert

In the draft he picked up Maxwell23 LD and DougCBJ RD
New Jersey Roster after the Draft

LW – TrueLegend07
C – I9i-stamkos-i1ic
G – Jeiel9876
C – xxBert-
LD – Maxwell23-_-

LW – TrueLegend07
C – I9i-stamkos-i1ic
RW – xxBert- / NTyrrell14
LD – Maxwell23-_-
RD – DougCBJ
G – Jeiel9876

Just looking at True and Stamkos up front it already is looking like another MVP type season from True and not knowing much about Maxwell at D its hard to judge what to expect from him but I do know Doug and he is a solid D-man so he definitely can lead the back line with anyone and the biggest question mark is obviously goalie not in his ability because statistically he is solid but is his availability going to be the same as when thrice was in net????

Prediction: Season Record 25 – 20 Playoffs: Yes

New York Islanders

So Icey returns this season and has put together a roster that on paper is as complete as they come. He resigned Pfarrcyde23 and Randymarsh2012 and then trades his First round pick 6th for Grammy and uses his first 2 on defense and takes Xtracts07 and mpurch.  With the rest of his picks he goes and adds some depth and vets such as NowYoDead, X_beaster_x and PghFANATIC

NYI Roster after Draft

G – IceyAsylum23
C – Pfarrcyde23
RW – Randymarsh2012
RW – GrammyHands
LD – Xtracts07
RD – mpurch
RW – NowYoDead
LD – X_beaster_x
G – Kawpow_Barnes_69
LD – PghFANATIC
LW – A-mason_4

Starting lineup

LW – GrammyHands
C – Pfarrcyde23
RW – Randymarsh2012
LD – Xtracts07
RD – mpurch
G – IceyAsylum23

This starting lineup is as balanced and solid as they come.  You got scoring and forechecking from your forwards and on the blue line the pair of Xtracts and mpurch look to shut opposing teams down before they get started.  This squad is definitely one to be on the lookout for during the season and if things play out as well as they look on paper they will be the team in the East to beat in my opinion.

Prediction: Season Record 31- 14  Playoffs: Yes

Ottawa

Reaper returns to the East and takes his hometown team Ottawa and brings his linemate LeCupidon along for another season.  He resigns Predator2477 RD and with his first round pick takes rich2k8 RD.  Now I remember rich back in 2018 as a RW but he has since joined the darkside and moved his talents to the blueline and has established himself in VG as a very solid D man. Then with his 2nd round pick takes current VGNHL standout FreezeMothaSucka RD
Then Reap adds SgtVandoos in net and then with the rest of his picks took stock in D men adding 3 more over the next 4 picks giving him a total of 6 D men of a roster of 10.  Reaper might have a plan in place that i am sure we all will get to see this season play out

Ottawa Roster after Draft

LW – Reapz2313
RW – LeCupidon
RD – Predator2477
RD – rich2k8
RD – FreezeMothaSucka
G – SgtVandoos
RW – M1keal
RD – Matrikstl
LD – Guesshoo1
RD – ToneCarbone

Starting Lineup

LW – Reapz2313
C – FreezeMothaSucka
RW – LeCupidon
LD – M1keal
RD – rich2k8
G – SgtVandoos

So we already know the pairing of Reap and Lecupid will translate into at least 15 wins on the season.  It’s the rest of the team that we need to convert into wins and not knowing if FreezeMothaSucka will workout at C is maybe the biggest question mark and the next is rich2k8 at RD.  If I know anything about Reap is that if he needs to make some changes he will just depends how long he’s willing to wait before he makes them.  He has plenty of defense depth that he can convert to fwds when the time is right.

Prediction: Season Record 22 – 23  Playoffs: on the line

Montreal

El Rookie took over this team last season and took them from the outhouse to the penthouse…but really this team was in the bottom and turned it around and made the playoffs.  Now going into Season 39 he cleaned house and started fresh and went into the resign draft and takes Fishhure, RiCKY69BoBBYjr & Notorious250 to begin his rebuild of the roster and with his first round pick takes JonFromEarth and follows that up with LL_CHIEF2STEP_LL aka Diirty_triix_13. Then with a real steal he gets a 7mil goalie after the 7th round for .5 mil

Montreal Roster after Draft

RW – EL_R_O_O_K_I_E
RW – Fishhure
RD – RiCKY69BoBBYjr
LD – Notorious250
C – JonFromEarth
C – LL_CHIEF2STEP_LL
RW – Eggman–1
LW – illbe_Backe

G – JoshuaDuhaime

Starting Lineup

LW – Fish
C – LL_CHIEF2STEP_LL
RW – JonFromEarth
LD – Eggman–1
RD – Notorious250
G – BomberAttack58

So just with the forward line of Fish, CHIEF2STEP, and Jon there will be no issues getting the puck into the zone and on the net.  Egg and Noto on D is something to watch over the season. Egg has been known as a D man in the past but has been converting to play forward so does he still have that D man skill set? Notorious aka Noto is a solid RD that will hopefully get Egg back up to speed and help solidify the blue line.  Bomber is listed here as the Goalie but I think EL might be playing more in the net that Bomber but we will see.

Prediction: Season Record 20 – 25  Playoffs: on the line

Washington

Curtis takes over St. Louis and resigns Kidmon3y and then trades him to Calgary for his first round 4th overall pick. Then trades his their 2nd round pick to Dallas for his resign x_jedi_x420.
So with 2 first round picks he takes LD – LouieDeuce8 and with his 2nd first rounder he lock up his net with G – ciulla19 Then with a 2nd rounder he acquired in another trade he picked up
C – cHELIOS-7x.

Washington Roster after Draft

RD – Curtisx18x
LW – x_Jedi_x420
LD – LouieDeuce8
G – ciulla19

Starting Lineup

LW – x_Jedi_x420
C – cHELIOS-7x
RW – The-Freak-Show2
LD – LouieDeuce8
RD – Curtisx18x
G – ciulla19

As told to me by Curtis “All LGNHL line”
So there is plenty of talent on this team and depth.  This team is looking to be at the top or the top in the East all season.  Only question I have is will they be there in the playoffs.  Not as in will they make the playoffs…that’s a Yes….its weather they will be available for them.  The one thing I know about guys from other leagues typically value the other league.  Not saying this will be the case but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Prediction: Season Record 33 – 12  Playoffs: Yes

Colorado

Bossman Plisk is keeping his position as GM of his beloved Avs and resigned Whitetees41 &  captstalechips then went into the draft with his 1st pick (7th) takes RW – xDeedss and follows it up with 2nd rounder C – WARDO_05 and for good measure adds that solid vet RW ChiefTrout and C ShawnSauve8.

Colorado Roster after Draft

Starting Lineup

LW – Whitetees41
C – WARDO_05
RW – xDeedss
LD – ASticks21

G – SA_Pliskin

Whitetees41 is the cornerstone of the front line and will lead this team in scoring but if WARDO_05 and xDeedss cant contribute to take some of the load off Whitetees41 then Plisk has his work cut out for him already.  As for Plisk well he will keep his team in every game the best he can the question is what can the D pairing of ASticks21 & captstalechips can do will definitely determine the night Plisk will have.

Prediction: Season Record 22 – 23  Playoffs: on the line

Dallas

New GM Yesc takes advantage of the pre-draft resign pool where he can add any player from another teams roster that was not resigned as long as he doesn’t resign anyone and he with that advantage he landed top pick/player Fluri37, then adds uStooPiiD and x_Jedi_x420 which he trades to Washington for pick.  Then he makes his big move and trades his first round pick (3rd) and 3rd round pick and 5th round pick to Arizona for Iam-beanzy.  Draft day with his first pick in the 2nd round he gets one of the top goalies in TopCheeseNeon.

I know it says Dallas on the roster but it kinda has the looks of Arizona’s from last season.  Fluri and Beanzy and Neon then Yes and Stoop and this looks like a team making a run for a cup and for the first three mentioned back to back cups.  This team will be the best out West and it literally will be theirs to lose.  Not a weak spot on the ice for this team.

Prediction: Season Record 36 – 9  Playoffs: Yes

Arizona

Tommy looking to join the SP Elite with back to back cups as a GM a feat only done by 3 other GMs in 38 seasons.  After such an amazing season with all that talent the salaries of his team ballooned up obviously and with only 17.5 mil to resign himself plus maybe one other guy he decides to keep the playoff MVP Iam-beanzy and then starts his rebuild with LW xSalda
But when offered such a sweet package of picks Tommy send beanzy to Dallas and now loaded with 3 picks in the top 13 he starts the rebuild with LD – sendthemnoods, LD – ProdigyToLegend and RD – jaguarknight then in the 3rd round adds G – Polar-1387 and in the 4th finishes up his lineup with RW – Jake_guentze

Some would say after winning a cup and losing all the guys from the team and rebuilding that hey it was a great season last year and maybe in a few seasons you’ll get another but Tommy did an amazing job in the draft acquiring top picks that hauled in a group of guys that will give Dallas and the East something to talk about.  Tommy with any group of wingers will move the puck and score and Noods and Jag on D have great puck skills as well.  Polar is a good goalie but if this group out front performs he can be great.  Question is do they have enough to overtake Dallas?  We will see

Prediction: Season Record 31 – 14  Playoffs: Yes

Calgary

No your eyes arent deceiving you and as Tommy likes to say it’s not 2018 again.  Yes Cuban is back as a GM and Yes he has taken over Calgary to maybe bring one more cup back to the Flames under his leadership.  Cuban resigned Ivan and Woy and I_Matthews34_I.  Then he trades his first round pick (4th) to Washington for Kidmo3ny and trades I_Matthews34_I to San Jose for a 2nd rounder which he turned into shepard-88- and in the 3rd takes his good friend and sometimes very very loud mouth buddy Fivestar

Calgary Roster after Draft

So in familiar fashion Cuban makes a C his cornerstone and adds one of the best ones in SP Kid to go along with wingers Woy and Shep. Those 3 should be able to establish themselves offensively but can they build up chemistry together quick enough to keep up with the likes of Dallas and Arizona? Then on the Blueline Cuban will be looking for a new partner in crime since his old linemate is no longer in SP he is hoping Coffey-lidstrom will step into that role as his new wingman.  With no natural position G on the roster Fivestar and Koz will be alternating the position in which is this team’s biggest question mark.  If they don’t workout in net this team is in for a rough season in the West

Prediction: Season Record 22 – 23  Playoffs: On the line

Los Angeles

So after a hard luck season for Sports last year he comes into season 39 looking to turn the ship in the right direction and he starts with resigns of C – Beantwn_beatdwn and RD – Bufford80 and with his first pick 2nd overall he selects C – Elfpha and with the 2nd round pick takes RW – Dynasty1989 and in the 3rd round he adds RD – zappaforever

Sports put together an interesting team…I have not had an opportunity to play with or against many of the players on this roster so it is hard for me to judge how they will play and outside of guys like Buff, Dynasty and Budz the only one I did have a chance to play against is the goalie ItsFatDino who was impressive the game i saw him play.  So I am not saying this roster isn’t going to compete but we will see as the season starts how well Sports did with putting this team together

Prediction: Season Record 18 – 37  Playoffs: No

San Jose

So ExE takes over as the GM of the Sharks and resigns PEACEKEEPER500 & CapitalsFan_08 and trades away a 3rd rounder for I_Matthews34_I and in the draft with the 1st overall pick takes RW – iZinczyi and then late in the 2nd round picks RD – TheMooCowTit

Prediction: Season Record 15 – 30  Playoffs: No

Best of luck to all the teams this season…I think it will be a real competitive season and should have some exciting moments.

Season 39 Week 1 Power Rankings

Season 39 Week 1 Power Rankings
Well here we are and after the first week of the season to say there hasn’t been a little bit of drama is an understatement. But what SP season is complete without a little bit of jaw jabbing and questionable move making…lol
So one week in and here is how I see the league shaping up….
1.Dallas Week 1 record 8-1
These guys looked the part before and after the draft and guess what…they play it too. This season top dog wasted no time establishing themselves as the Elite and we will all be chasing them down.
Biggest win of week 1 – Arizona 1-0
Star as of week 1 – Beanzy (4PPG)
Week 2 big game – Washington
2.Washington Week 1 record 6-2-1
So Curtis already had a LGNHL squad and decided that wasn’t enough and added 2 more for good measure (Capsfan & Zincy) to really set themselves up in the East as the team to beat and to let Dallas know they are right behind them breathing down their neck
Biggest win of week 1 – Ottawa 12 – 2
Star as of week 1 – ciulla19 5-1 84.6 SV%
Week 2 big game – Toronto
3.Arizona Week 1 record 7-1-1
So without skipping a beat Arizona continues its winning ways but not in the same fashion it started last season with. Scoring is down for this group with only 36 goals so far which is not bad but not what this team did a year ago. But their Defense is as stellar as before and Polar did an amazing job in net this week. But will it be enough week 2 to keep this team in the top?
Biggest win of week 1 – Washington 5-4
Star as of week 1 – Polar 5-1 84.3 SV%
Week 2 big game – Dallas
4.Toronto Week 1 record 5-4
Toronto is a bit slow out the gate here in week 1 with a 5-4 start and had big wins against Washington and Arizona this week. But losses to Colorado, Montreal and Ottawa. This might haunt the team later in the season. 29 Goals allowed is a lot for this team and I am sure toslick will address this for week 2.
Biggest win of week 1 – Arizona 5-4
Star as of week 1 – Chad 80 SV%
Week 2 big game – Washington
5.New Jersey Week 1 record 4-4-1
After a 0-3 start to the season True got to work and found his lineups for the rest of the week and possibly for the rest of the season and finished with a 4-1-1 week. NTyrrell14 was a large contributor to the week with his 31 points and Knxght30 in net 3-0 with 87 SV% helped. But with losses to NYI, WAS, TOR all teams they need to beat in the East. So True will need to hopefully get his top line more games week 2 to stay relevant after next week in a very hard East.
Biggest win of week 1 – Ottawa 9-1
Star as of week 1 – NTyrrell14 31 points
Week 2 big game – NYI
6.New York Islander Week 1 Record 4-4-1
On paper this team looked like the power in the East and after Monday they were on there way to dominating the Conference….Then Tuesday happened and 3 straight losses to TOR, MTL & LA and it was back to reality for this team and to make thing even worse Friday they take 2 more losses to West leaders Dallas and Arizona. Grammy is carrying the load of the offense and its looking like if you shut him down you shut this team down. Icey needs to get him some help soon.
Biggest win of week 1 – Washington
Star as of week 1 – GrammyHands 33 points
Week 2 big game – Toronto
7.Ottawa Week 1 record 5-4
Its hard to tell what kind of team Ottawa is at the moment…Obviously they can score with the duo of Reap and LeCupid but there has been a lot of shuffling on the D and G positions and it showed last week. Wins vs TOR & DAL but lopsided losses to ARI, NJ, WSH and NYI which are all top teams they need to compete against if they want to make any sort of noise this season. Reap has a plan to address his D and G situation for week 2…just hope it works out for him
Biggest win of week 1 – Dallas
Star as of week 1 – LeCupidon 38 points
Week 2 big game – Toronto
8.Calgary Week 1 record 4-5
Cuban is struggling to find the right lines right now to be able to compete on a nightly basis with the likes of Dallas and Arizona. With a 4-2 start going into Friday things looked well for this team and then 3 straight blowout losses to WSH, TOR, OTT and its back to the drawing board. Kid and Woy have been the workhorses but Cuban needs to solidify that D to help out his goalies if they plan on competing at all the rest of the season
Biggest win of week 1 – Colorado
Star as of week 1 – Kidmon3y 31 points
Week 2 big game – Arizona
9. LA Week 1 record 4-4-1
Sportsgeek finds his team in the middle of the pack this week. NIce wins against COL, NYI & NJ but losses to top teams ARI, DAL and WSH have them looking like a competitive team in the middle of the pack but still unable to play with the teams at top. Their team stats look the same as well…spread out and average at best with no one really standing out. Not sure if that was the plan for the week but if it is then success!!! But if not and Sports is looking to play with the teams at the top he needs to get more from his guys.
Biggest win of week 1 – New Jersey
Star as of week 1 – Bufford80 3-4 78 SV%
Week 2 big game – Arizona
10.Colorado Week 1 record 3-5-1
These guys feasted in there wins versus SJ and MTL and stole one Friday from TOR. But against all the other teams with winning records they struggled. Looking over the stats Plisk gave everyone a shot to play and it showed on the ice as he might have been looking to find out what he has talent wise. His top 2 guys in Whitetees and Deedss didnt produce as they might normally do as they might still be learning to play together. The bright spot I see from this week is the emergence of D man capstalechips with 8 points this week. We will see in week 2 if Plisk solved his lineups and can put a team on the ice able to win some games against the upper teams
Biggest win of week 1 – Toronto
Star as of week 1 – capstalechips 8 points
Week 2 big game – Calgary
11.Montreal Week 1 record 3-5-1
Wins against TOR, NYI and LA are huge but losses to SJ, OTT, CGY don’t help. Thing that stands out is that the forwards of Fish, 2step, Jon and Backe are pretty decent and have helped keep this team in games. But on D there appears to be a shuffling act that El Rookie is still trying to figure out and until he does his goalies are going to suffer. Egg played 6 games with zero points and the rotation of Noto 3GP 3P, El Rookie 3GP 2P, mikey 3GP and 2step 3GPhave the back line looking for answers. Josh and EL played net last week as the supposed listed starter Bomberattack was MIA week 1. Maybe getting bomber back week 2 might be the answer this team is looking for? We will see….
Biggest win of week 1 – Toronto
Star as of week 1 – Fish 20 points
Week 2 big game – New York
12.San Jose Week 1 record 1-8
Every SP season there is that one team that struggles out the gate and his entire roster turns on him and now that GM is trying to get the broken pieces together to make a competitive team on a nightly biases. SJ is that team so far this year. At the moment he seems to be handling it well he has what looks like a team of guys willing to put up a good fight and show up every night and with their first win coming Friday there is a good starting point for the team. ExE will now have to spend this week maybe getting some chemistry going and get some wins against the lower teams before starting to think about anything else.
Biggest win of week 1 – Montreal
Star as of week 1 – ExE 9GP 5 points
Week 2 big game – Colorado

Tommygoat Gets a Cup

Tommygoat Gets a Cup
It only took me 4 NHL games (NHL 17-21), 10+ seasons of SP and 2 heartbreaking finals to finally put my name on an SP cup. I started off in SP season 23 as an 18-year-old rookie who didn’t know anyone in the league, heard about it from a guy I played a drop in with. Before that game, I thought club finals in EASHL was the big leagues, was I ever mistaken. After telling my high school friends about this shit, s24 I took management of a team in an attempt to play some competitive hockey with my friends. Between them and my SP veteran group of misfits we were projected to finish DEAD LAST in the league. We somehow squeaked into the playoffs and after being predicted to get swept every round, we made the cup finals (where we got absolutely shit on by SedinPower’s dynasty roster). I thought “wow this is easy to make the finals” was I ever mistaken. It wasn’t until season 37 where I teamed up with my good friend Prod to make it back to the cup finals. What a roster we had but we were bested by an even better Tampa Bay Lightning squad. My plan was to win that cup in s37 then sail into the sunset as a champion. Due to the pandemic and other aspects of my personal life kicking my ass, I decided to return to SPNHL as a GM in season 38 to finally get my cup and keep myself distracted from the outside world. Man, what a fun season we had, finishing 39-6 and managing these “toxic” players was the most fun I’ve had in any season of any league.
Road to the Cup:
Round 1 vs Avs-
First of all, shout out to Pliskin for building himself a great team, these guys were definitely dark horses in the west. After playing us tight in games 1-3 we took care of business in games 4 and 5 eventually winning the series. The Avs had a depleted lineup missing 3 of their better players this week, can see them maybe stealing another if they had their full squad. Tees you’re a stud and a nightmare for any defenceman to cover, Dino game 4 you were unbelievable, pretty sure you made close to 30 saves that game. After thinking I knew our game 7 lineup before this series, things changed on the fly.
Round 2 vs Blues-
We absolutely costed game 1, we were playing great all game long until we decided to stop shooting the puck. Props to this Blues team though, they turned it on in the 3rd period and stole that game from us. Games 2 and 3 our offence started to show up, defensively much like the entire season, was questionable at times. Other than a few breakdowns, the boys came to play and we took a 2-1 series going into Tuesday. Games 4 and 5 was the Polar show, both games were 3-1 but we did lose game 5. Polar I’m tipping my cap to you, I’ve known you for some years and you proved a lot of people wrong who thought you were garbage. You were an absolute monster this series and everyone on your team should owe you a steak dinner. Unfortunately, game 6, your back broke and we stomped the Blues 9-4 in game 6. Shout out to the Tuesday line for the Blues, you guys were depleted but stole a game and played solid team defence outside the 893471 penalties. Rah, you are nasty kid, can’t wait to be lineys in LG next season. Cpenn, you’re unreal as well, never look forward to playing against you, you’re slippery as fuck. Kid, for a dude that plays on 1 ping you got to try something other than tie-up in the faceoff dot ;). For real though, I enjoyed our C battles all season, way to prove a lot of people wrong and live up to that 3rd overall pick. Curtis, even though you’re kind of ass at the game ;), your pokes are ridiculous and zone entries surprised me. Kidding, you’re clamps buddy, felt great beating you though. Pete, I have so much respect for you as a person but in game, holy fuck you’re the luckiest man I’ve ever seen. Just press up and it goes in, can’t relate.
Stanley Cup Finals vs Toronto-
What a rollercoaster 2 days this was. Games 1 and 2, although we had some slow starts and some sloppy play we were able to best Toronto going up 2-0. Doug just had the game of his life and I wanted to put him in game 3, we decided to just stick with our lineup posted instead. Fluri, we needed a save buddy, we got stomped 7-4 by Toronto’s line of backups, that was all momentum gone.
Day 2, game 4 our defensive struggles continued and we allowed 3 cross crease goals in the 1st period, 2nd we started to play better but guess what, Noods lags out, we were down 1 but lost the slow last minute of the game. End up losing game 4, series is tied. Game 5, we played probably our best game of the series, but guess who was better, Chadkillz (and the 5 posts we hit). What a game for Chad, winning 1-0 the Leafs were 1 win away from the Stanley cup.
I knew we played great but I went with my gut and decided to throw out a lineup that we used all season long but not in the playoffs. I put Beanzy in net who almost benched himself for Neon, who was unreal in the 3 games he played this series. Beanzy told me to play C and move Fluri to wing, back to the line we ran for 5 weeks during the season. Noods and Tracts on D gave us 2 guys who could clamp instead of 4th forward Beanzy who was taken out of the play by Toronto’s stellar trap and 5-man defence.
Going into game 6, everyone was saying regardless what happens, this has been my favourite season ever. Noods speaks up and says “wtf u guys talking about we got 2 games still” Did we ever. 0-0 game going into the 3rd, what a sweat fest, I go to bump toslick and my guy misses and he scores…. 1-0 Toronto. We needed a goal, offensive zone faceoff, both C jump the draw, it’s a tie up Fish gets the puck forces a pass and somehow, that puck found the back of the net. OH. MY. GOD. 1-1. After that, the boys found a 2nd wind and we were BUZZIN. The game eventually goes to OT where a late addition to the lineup Xtracts gets the puck at the point and slaps it off the bar and in. HOLY SHIT 3-3 series.
Now, before the games tonight we were under the impression that we were going to play game 7 Friday night regardless. The Leafs had a change in heart and we ended up playing it. The boys came to play, after grabbing the momentum in game 6, we played our best game of the season, way to save the best for last. All the boys were fired up and I was sitting in my room really excited but trying to be quiet because my brother was sleeping in the room next door.
To the Leafs:
Devon/DP/Dead- Props to you guys for coming in game 3 ice cold and winning that game.
Semple- Thanks for dodging stud
Mike- You’re a beast, RD or C you had a great series
Shep- One of the nicest guys in the league, you were clamps all series long
Chico- In my opinion, the best Leaf this series, you were the catalyst for their offence and were a handful in the dot and to defend.
Grammy- One of my closest friends in SP, I was like White on Rice with you all series long, let’s rip some club soon
Chad- Nothing but respect for your play, stud for our team in CBJ and continued that play for the Leafs. Never seen a goalie be able to steal games like you can on a consistent basis.
Toslick- When you’re not talking about how good you are, it’s refreshing to talk to you. Your squad is phenomenal, you’re a great GM and I can’t wait to see what kind of roster you’ll put together next season.
To my Yotes:
Ricky: Not going to lie to you buddy, I knew nothing on you when I called you up to the roster, I knew your main position was RD but had sketchy availability. Between you needing an ECU 1 minute before game time and the 17 relative birthday parties you just happened to have on game nights you scared me. As the season progressed, on the rare occasion you’d make an appearance in the chat, the boys were all fired up. You were clamps all season long and stepped up in your games in the playoffs, thanks for your help this season.
Blue devil: BACK TO BACK, Mr. s37 Conn Smyth himself, after breaking my heart the season before, you played a limited role for us in the playoffs but, you truly are gross at Chel. Other than getting absolutely clamped by Jaguar in round 1, you made most dmen your bitch all season long. No brainer trade to acquire you, thanks for carrying me most of the regular season.
Neon: I took a chance on you in round 7, what a decision I made. You are a great goalie and elite discord presence, between you and Noods trolling me 24/7 you always kept me entertained. Those L’s in game 4 or 5 were not on you at all, you were unreal all season long and played amazing in the playoffs. Pulling you was a tough decision but ultimately worked out in the end. You’re a great kid, thanks for a fun season.
Doug: The team dad, you balanced out all the toxic shitheads this season and are one of the best goalie party presence ever. Game 2 of the SCF was the best game I’ve seen you play. You’re one of the greatest guys in the chel community, got nothing but respect for you man. When Doug got pissed at us, we knew we fucked up but, it sparked the boys to played better for him. When the boys were playing like shit, you weren’t scared to call us out, and your no bullshit attitude is what this squad needed. Glad, we can send you into retirement with a championship.
Xtracts (Willy): When Fish told me “Pick up my buddy, he’s better than me at chel”, I knew I had to take a chance on you cuz Fish does not say shit like that ever. Although you gave me heart attacks when you carry the puck sometimes and fore-check as a defenceman, you were a crucial piece to the squad. That goal you scored in game 6 was unreal, and you played the best I’ve ever seen in game 7. Was a pleasure having you on the team.
Fish: SLAPPPPPP!!!!! Dude, back in the day, I hated your guts. Thought you were a cocky prick but, I always thought you were a stud on the sticks and felt we’d play great together. This season we finally got to be teammates, turns out, you’re one of the best teammates I’ve ever had. That trickler goal in game 6 was insane, your party presence to get the boys fired up was amazing. Your no bullshit attitude and brutal honesty made everyone you played with better, thanks for a great season stud.
Noods: Other than the fact you asked for a trade every day and refused to play more than 3 a week unless I begged you, you were so easy to deal with LOL. For only knowing you for a short while, you’ve become a really good friend of mine. You’re an absolute monster on LD and solid as fuck at C, 3rd round steal ska-_-noodle. The constant trolling always kept me on my toes and entertained. Your naps 30 minutes to game time also scared me and you leaving in the 1st period to go eat dinner was a great memory, (not to mention you going AFK during game 1 of the playoffs). Thanks for a great season stud.
Fluri: Idk how you manage to deal with Bean on 2 different teams but you’re one of the nicest and patient guys the NHL community has to offer. Not to mention you’re great at all 6 positions (sike need save), regardless if it was C, W or D you were a beast all season. You also helped balance out all the toxic pricks my roster had, even though you knew your availability early every week, you were somehow always last to submit it. Thanks for the carry all season long.
Beanzy: YUP YOU SEE ME! NVM YOU HATE ME. The King of Sp, I’ve never met a guy more with more passion and drive to win than you. Your discord and party presence was crucial to the squad, when we needed a big play you were always there to provide it, whether it was scoring a goal, setting up one or even making a big save. You made every player around you better and always had good constructive criticism. Over these past few months you’ve turned into one of my best friends. Early in the season you were always looking for ways to improve the squad, seeking trade options and calling me on discord while I’m in class LOL. One of the funniest guys I’ve ever met, felt like 50% of the time we were playing I was out of breath in tears laughing my ass off. Thanks for backpacking my ass to a cup just like you promised, can’t wait to see what we can do next season.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading! Hope everyone is staying safe during this difficult time, although I may come off as toxic to some, the chel community has to look out for each other. Plisk, it is not said enough how thankful everyone in SP is for the work you do, without you, we wouldn’t have this great community that feels like home.
PS
Cuban WTF you thinking making us the underdog?
lEaFs In FiVe.
We went 39-6 and only gave us 1 game against the Leafs cmon cuh. For real though, always enjoyed your content!

Stanley Cup Finals

Stanley Cup Finals
So then there was two…
From the West to no ones surprise is the #1 seed and best team all season, Arizona Coyotes
From the East we have the #2 seed Toronto Maple Leafs who have hit their stride at the right time
Both these teams have fought their way to face off for the right to be called this seasons champion but lets take a look at some stats and see who has the edge on paper and who can transfer it that onto the ice
#1 Arizona 39-6 vs #2 Toronto 26-17-2 Season Series ARI won 3-0 (5-4, 1-0, 8-4)

G – chadkillz134 GP:5 W:5 L:0 SV% 85.51 GAA: 2.00
Advantages:
Offense: Arizona slightly over Toronto
Defense: Toronto over Arizona
Goalie: Toronto way over Arizona
Key to Success:
Arizona: There really isn’t much to say here…its pretty simple…Goalie
If they expect to win this series it will come down to their Goalie and D out front of that Goalie…they will not make this a shootout and even if they do for a game it will not be enough to win the series if they do not get solid Goalie play and D to protect their lead
Toronto: Pressure…not in the fashion of being physical but in the way they have been so far this playoffs. This team have played with a lead every series they were in and if they continue that trend against Arizona they will give themselves a great opportunity to win
Key Match-up:
Chadkillz134 versus Arizona
It is very clear that Chad is a big reason this team has gotten to this point and he will need to continue his playoff dominance if Toronto expects to win and Arizona needs to jump on him early if they expect to control the series
Prediction:
So after looking over the stats and the possible match ups and playing both these teams during the season and playing this updated Toronto roster in the playoffs it is very clear that Toronto should win this series and win the cup.
Arizona has played amazing all year and will face their biggest match-up to date when they play Toronto. The regular season Arizona did win all 3 match ups but that was not the team currently playing in the playoffs. With some late additions due to player availability that literally gave Toronto a lineup to be reckoned with right now. For Arizona their current play of their goalies come playoffs hasn’t been good and you need consistency at the position and they have none. For me dophares2000 is the guy and he needs to play every game. He is their best chance of making this a series. Arizona can score and they will be leaning on that skill very hard but Toronto has the best goalie in the game and chad does not allow many goals and right now if he is off the forwards of tooslick, grammy and semple have his back.
So I know its easy for me to say Toronto after the ass whooping the put on us in New Jersey but it was very easy for me to write this having played them in that series and also playing against Arizona during the regular season and seeing them this playoffs to know Toronto is the better team right now
So with all that said
Toronto 4-1
Best of Luck to both teams and may the best team win
Cuban
Side Note:
Just so everyone knows I just want to take a minute to say I don’t want either team to win. Honestly…
If Arizona loses (you had it coming after all that shit you talked)
If Toronto loses (HAHAHA you aint as good as you thought…poor chads back must have broke)
But if Arizona wins they had the best team all year and backed up all the talk
But if Toronto wins I will be even more pissed because that team shouldn’t have made the playoffs and to be gifted players to keep the roster alive is BS

Eastern Conference Finals Match-up

Eastern Conference Finals Match-up
I think 99.9999% of the league saw this happening, after handing their business with ease, the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs will battle it out in round 2. The Leafs outscored the Islanders 30-11 in the 4-game sweep while the Devils outscored the Habs 25-11 in their 4-game sweep. Out of respect to the Isles and Habs I originally predicted that they would take a game each in their series but deep down I knew neither roster had any chance against their opposition.
This series is one that is highly anticipated, let’s get into the breakdown.
#2 Toronto Maple Leafs (26-17-2) @ #1 New Jersey Devils (36-9-0)
Best Line Prediction:
Toronto Maple Leafs

RD- DetAjax17 GP4 G0 A6 PTS6 +4 GV26 TK14
G-thrice01 GP3 3-0 80sv% 2.67gaa
Keys to Success:
Toronto: After averaging over 7 goals a game in round 1, I can guarantee that this trend will not happen in round 2. In order to beat the Devils, this Leafs team will have to win battles in the neutral zone and generate offence on a counter attack. If they try and play run and gun, they will get absolutely shit on. Sharing the rock and spreading out the puck possession will keep the Devils on their toes.
New Jersey: This was the best team in the East for a reason and here is there opportunity to solidify it. In order to beat the Leafs, they need to frustrate their high-power offence, if the Leafs have 1 bad game, their egos will start to come out and they won’t play their best hockey. This Devils team is built to frustrate their opponents and if they are able to continue this trend this series, it could be over early.
Key Match-up: Toronto G Chadkillz134 vs New Jersey G thrice01
With so many talented players on both teams it was tough to choose but I believe this goaltending battle will be a treat to watch all series long. For the Leafs, Chad and his stacked shelf of Vezina trophies will be up against this season’s no brainer Vezina winner in Thrice. Whichever team is able to get to the opposing G early will be the team that punches their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final.
Prediction:
This series will be one that is hard fought and will likely be decided late Tuesday or even Friday. Both teams are on a tear but, with other leagues running this week, availability will be the make or break factor for these teams. If Toronto is able to field their best it will be a long series, if not New Jersey will send them packing early. End of the day, I’m reluctantly going with the #1 team in the East.
New Jersey in 6
Best of luck to both teams! Happy New Year

Western Conference Finals Match-up

Western Conference Finals Match-up
So then there was two….Not much surprise here as Arizona won their series against Colorado but I will give Colorado some credit as they did put up a fight on Monday night and even took a game in the series but as anticipated Arizona worked out their rust from the week off and finished the Avs off Tuesday to advance to the Western Finals to face…..
The #2 Seed St. Louis Blues, but honestly they had been the 2nd best team in the West all season long and deserve a chance to dethrone the top seeded Arizona Coyotes. St. Louis had a much different series in round 1 as I previously predicted that Seattle would be an extremely tough match up and as predicted it was. St. Louis won the series 4-1 but like most of their games against each other they were all 1 goal games except for game 5 in which St. Louis won convincingly by 5 goals
So who will come out of the West and represent their conference in the Finals?
Lets breakdown this match
#1 Arizona 39-6 vs #2 St. Louis 34-10 (Season Series ARI won 3-2)
Best Line Prediction
Arizona:
LW – xToxiCBoY GP:5 G:9 A:8 P:17 +/-: -1
C – Fluri37 GP:2 G:1 A:10 P:11 +/-: +5
RW – Fishhure GP:5 G:6 A:11 P:17 +/-: -2

St. Louis:
LW – PistolPete7788 GP:3 G:6 A:7 P:13 +/-: +4
C – Kidmon3y GP:5 G:9 A:3 P:12 +/-: +4
RW – MoTm_Rah GP:4 G:6 A:7 P:13 +/-: +4

RD – curtisx18x GP:5 G:0 A:9 P:9 +/-: +4 GV: 30 TK: 13
G – Jeiel9876 GP:3 W:3 L:0 SV% 85.96 GAA: 2.66
Advantages:
Offense: Arizona over St. Louis
Defense: St. Louis slightly over Arizona
Goalie: St. Louis over Arizona
Key to Success:
Arizona: This team might have just been rusty after a week off but giving up 18 goals to Colorado is not good. I did not see the series but looking over the stats the goalie play was not up to normal standards and its something that Tommy will need to possibly address if it continues going into this match up vs STL. Now outside of that this team is firing on all cylinders after Tuesday’s games and look ready to take that step up onto the big stage and play in the Finals. If they can cleanup the defensive end and control the puck at the other end like they have all season then this should be an easy series for these guys
St. Louis: Well they knew last series was going to be a dog fight and it was exactly that but for this series it will be an uphill climb. They will need to attack Arizona and score early and force Arizona to play catch up. Not an easy task but one St. Louis is capable of implementing. Then as I noted in the Colorado series I am stating the same here for St. Louis…they will need to be physical with Arizona but stay out of the box. If they can accomplish this along with making Arizona chase them on the scoreboard this team will find itself representing the West in the Finals
Key Match-up:
GM Tommy vs GM Pete
I can easily pick out some guys from each roster or even pin it to the goalies but really this will be a game of cat and mouse for each of these GM’s. What they do with their lineup and with the availability from their guys will be HUGE
I feel the GM who can match his line the best will get the win in this series
Prediction:
Arizona is easily the pick but after Monday’s results they have me 2nd guessing. Yes, they came out Tuesday and handled business but they were not impressive in the first 3 games of the Colorado series which has me questioning their ability to close out this St. Louis team who is in my opinion battle tested after the Seattle series. St. Louis has faced and handled being in close games of 1 or 2 goals and have won the most of those games and their goal tending is in better shape if than Arizona. Even their games against each other during the regualr season went to Arizona 3-2 but the games were all 2 goal games 6-4 x2, 3-1 x2 and a 4-1 that went Arizona’s way
So…I feel Arizona will come out on top…they have been the best team all season and to judge them over one bad night after a week off is not doing them any justice…but this is not Colorado this St. Louis team is going to test them
Arizona 4-2
Best of luck to both these teams

Western Conference Round 1 Match-ups

Western Conference Round 1 Match-ups
So after a grueling 5 week long season we are down to the final 4 teams in the West.
Who will make it to the Conference Finals and who is going fishing after this week.
Lets take a look at these match-ups and find out.
#1 Arizona 39-6 vs #4 Colorado 22-23 (Season Series ARI won 4-1)
Arizona had pretty much dominated the entire season and their games against Colorado played out the same during the season except for one game in which Arizona lost 2-1.
Can Colorado recreate that magic in their only win against the best team in the West?
Let’s breakdown the stats…..
Best Line Prediction
Arizona:
LW – xToxiCBoY GP:32 G:51 A:73 P:124 +/-: +51
C – Fluri37 GP:29 G:56 A:86 P:142 +/-: +70

G – dophares2000 GP:21 W:17 L:4 SV% 74 GAA: 3.19
Colorado:
LW – Whitetees41 GP:33 G:57 A:64 P:121 +/-: +19
C – Heedlessjem420 GP:16 G:28 A:35 P:63 +/-: +19

RD – Teamrun420 GP:29 G:3 A:24 P:27 +/-: +1 GV: 145 TK: 84
G – SA_Pliskin GP:20 W:9 L:11 SV% 73 GAA: 3.9
Advantages:
Offense: Arizona tips the scale here very easily
Defense: Arizona is the favorite but Colorado does close the gap
Goalie: Arizona
Key to Success:
Arizona: Consistency…Just getting the lineup on the ice to settle in and not look ahead of their opponent. After such a dominate regular season these are now the games that count the most not what was done over the last 5 weeks. As long as they stay consistent and handle the team they are playing this round they should win this match up easily.
Colorado: Discipline…This team needs to be physical from the start and make Arizona work to enter the zone by hitting them in the neutral zone. But they cant take the penalties and give Arizona any man advantages or this could get ugly quick. If they can get Arizona off the puck and put shots on net they MIGHT have a chance here
Key Match-up:
Whitetees vs Arizona D
This is really what the focus of the series will be in my opinion…if Arizona can keep Whitetees41 in check then they control the series. If they allow him to score and give Colorado some momentum and confidence this can turn things interesting
Prediction:
Arizona wins in 4 – Colorado just might not be able to put their best line on the ice for this series and they can’t match-up with Arizona
Next Series
#2 St. Louis 34-10 vs #3 Seattle 27-15 (Season Series STL won 5-1)
St. Louis won the series during the regular season but they were all very close games. So close that out of the 6 games played four had a difference of 1 goal and the other two games the score difference was 2 goals. With that type of margin this easily could be Seattle at #2 and St. Louis at #3 if a puck bounces the other way.
So lets break thie series down….
Best Line Prediction:

Advantages:
Offense: St. Louis slightly over Seattle
Defense: Seattle slightlyover St. Louis
Goalie: Push – No Advantage
Key to Success:
St. Louis: This team will need to play defensive minded hockey. They will be able to score but they need to keep the puck out of the net if they plan to win this series and its going to take a team effort to get that done
Seattle: Fore check…Seattle will need to really put the pressure on St. Louis D to get the puck out of the zone and if they can force those D men to turn over the puck it will lead to some early goals and some victories
Key Match-up:
Goalies: whichever goalie decides to make some stops in this series in the 3rd period will win the series for their team
Prediction:
Without a doubt this is the series to watch in the 1st round..Both these teams have played each other tough all season long and it will be a chippy series in my opion. Expect a lot of talk in the chat. I am pickng St. Louis to edge this out. I fell they have the better scoring and their goalie play might be able to hold up come the 3rd period or OT. Seattle can force the puck on net and make some things happen but St. Louis can respond like they have all season long.
STL wins 4-2

There you have it folks, another amazing qriteup from your favorite Cuban.

Eastern Conference Round 1 Playoff Matchup

SPNHL S38 Eastern Conference Round 1 Playoff Matchup
Matchup 1:
4th seed Montreal Canadiens (19-24-2) vs 1st seed- New Jersey Devils (36-9-0)
First off, we have our quarter final matchup between ElRookie and the Habs and TrueLegend and the Devils. One team climbed out of the basement to grab the 4th playoff spot in the East while the other was sitting pretty at the top of the standings all season long.
Best Line Predictions:

Advantages:
Offence: New Jersey >>>> Montreal- Big advantage to NJ
Defence: New Jersey > Montreal- Pretty close but slight advantage to NJ
Goaltending: New Jersey >>>>>>>>>> Montreal- not even close
Depth: New Jersey >>>>>>- Big advantage NJ
Keys to Success:
Montreal: In order for this team to take this series the team has to be absolutely perfect. They have a great top pair with Wally and Royal and good two way forwards in Exe, Chief and SE7. They’re going to have to keep pucks out of their net and take advantage of their opportunities.
New Jersey: Honestly, as a 36-9-0 team who has been dominant all season long, they have to just play like they can and will take this series easily.
Key Matchup:
TrueLegend07 LW vs DrWally RD
The winner of this matchup will determine how this series will go. If Wally can keep True in check, this series could be extended till late Tuesday. However, if True wins this head to head, this series could be over early.
Prediction: Devils in 5
Matchup 2:
3rd seed New York Islanders (21-22-2) vs 2nd seed Toronto Maple Leafs (26-17-2)
Next series, includes Icey’s Isles and toslick’s Leafs. These 2 teams stayed consistent in the standings throughout the season in the weaker Eastern Conference.
Best Lines Prediction:
New York Islanders:
LW- Pfarrcyde23 GP:25 G:32 A:52 PTS:84 P/GP: 3.4 -13
C- Lo-Maximus GP:26 G:22 A:40 PTS:62 P/GP: 2.4 -18

G- chadkillz134 GP:17 14-3 77sv% 3.35GAA
Advantages:
Offence: Toronto >>> New York- Both teams have good forward cores but advantage TOR
Defence: Toronto >>>>>> New York- Big advantage to TOR
Goalie: Toronto >>>>>>>>>> New York- Not even close
Depth: Toronto >>>>>> New York- Both teams have some depth but TOR is the deepest team in the league
Keys to Success:
New York: The offence of this team will have to do all the heavy lifting for them in this series. If the defence and goaltending doesn’t step up, it’ll be a shootout which they do not have a chance to win against this Leafs high power offence.
Toronto: This team at 26-17-2 has more FF L’s than actual L’s. If the team is able to field a roster of 6 guys, this will be an easy series for the Leafs.
Key Matchup:
Toslick RW vs Pfarrcyde LW/C
Which of these forwards will lead their offence better? Toslick has an extremely talented supporting cast with guys like Gram, Semple, Chico, Mike, Shep, Dead and DP where Pfarr has less help but isn’t alone with guys like Lo, Randy and Clark. Both of these players have the ability to dominate but who’s it going to be?
Prediction: Leafs in 5
Good luck to all teams playing!

Final team breakdown and Award predictions

Hey everyone, if you are curious to see the spreadsheet let me know and I would love to share it with you. Underneath will be a quick description of the Z-Scores if you missed the Stats lesson 2 weeks ago.
Team Stats:
• Calculated the average and standard deviation of each stat then compared it to each team (0 is average, less than 0 below average, bigger than 0 above average)
• After doing this for each category I added them all together to get 1 number which I bolded
Forward Stats:
• Did the same thing as the team stats but this time used stats like G/GP, A/GP, Pts/GP, S/GP, S%, Discipline (pims/GP), H/GP, GV/GP, TK/GP
• After doing this for each category I added them all together to get 1 number (Total) which I bolded
Defense Stats
• Did the same thing as the team stats but this time used stats like G/GP, A/GP, Pts/GP, S/GP, S%, Discipline (pims/GP), H/GP, GV/GP, TK/GP
