I wrote an article at the start of the season of where I projected each team to finish in the Standings. Since the season is over, I thought I may as well go back and reflect on how dogshit of a job I did since I’m sick as fuck and have nothing better to do.
Randy’s Post-Draft Team Rankings
- Detroit
- Edmonton
- San Jose
- Colorado
- Washington
- Montreal
- Philadelphia
- Vegas
- Toronto
- Seattle
End of Season Rankings:

- Washington +2
- Edmonton -2
- Toronto +4
- Montreal 0
- Seattle +4
- Vegas 0
- Colorado -5
- Philadelphia -3
As you can see, I did a terrible job, the only thing I was right about was Montreal being the 6th best team and Vegas being 8th, and I feel like I got them right for the wrong reasons lol.
The only thing I feel I got close to right was that San Jose, Detroit, Edmonton, and Washington were top 5 teams. I just didn’t have them in the right order.
My biggest disappointment team is Colorado, they had good pieces to start the season but their poor availability and lack of chem with the drafted rookies turned this team into a bottom feeder quick.
Biggest improvement team goes to both Toronto and Seattle, I thought Toronto’s trades before the draft hurt them more than it actually did, they came out of the gate strong and competed every night. They did start to slow down at the end of the season but still did much better than I thought they would overall. Dirty D did a good job icing good lines each night and never having to FF a game.
Seattle’s re-sign and draft choices were questionable to start the season and they did start slow, but Fly’s determination to get this team out of the bottom and show SP that they won’t be an easy W each night and managing to rally his team together for good availability for the season put his team into a playoff spot. Great work.
Now the big question is who’s going to take home Lord Stanley? I’ll probably start writing some playoff shit now.
