Well, that was an eventful week. These intros become more and more boring and I apologize. I can’t think anymore. More of the same from the top teams, and bottom teams. And shifting within the middle. Lets jump in and take a look.
Number 1. As a surprise to no one, Philly remains at the top of the rankings. A perfect week will certainly do that. Picking up key victories over New Jersey and fLorida to take a 7 point lead into week 2. This week will be a test as they play both teams again as well as the four top teams in the West. (Same)
Number 2. Arizona. The Coyotes seem to be the cream of the crop out West as they finish the week 8-1 with the lone loss coming against St. Louis. A trade to acquire Bej gives them the Game 7 RW they’ve been searching for and may solidify them as the best in the West. (Same)
Number 3. Florida Panthers. The roster looks a bit different than it did after the draft. All but 3 have been shipped out (Fact check me I may be wrong) but the 3 that remain are important. Trades to acquire clampse and Doranz make this team almost perfect (Peace has to play d). Gonna need to win more than 6 a week to catch Philly. (UP 3)
Number 4. New Jersey. The Devils won 7 this week to catapult back into the mix in the east. The brother duo on D has been great while John x Semp have been able to carry the load up front. Alonzi has been good enough to get them here today. (UP 4)
Number 5. San Jose Sharks. Randy rallied the troops and brought the Sharks back to life. With First place very much in reach, the Sharks will look to replicate the Success from last week. Also is their best forward also their best goalie???? Keep it up Randy. (UP 4)
Number 6. St Louis. Another average week for the Blues. 2 loses at the hands of the Sharks and a 0-3 Friday killed what could’ve been a solid week to keep pace with Arizona. Instead they’re looking up at two teams. Lineups look promising for next Friday, maybe they can win one. ( DOWN 2)
Number 7. Colorado. The Avs won 3 games this week and managed to stay in that 4 spot in the west. Again OT losses just keep piling up. Maybe this is the week they turn those into 2 points to distance themselves from Nashville. At the end of the day, they will need to do better. (SAME)
Number 8. Nashville. While this roster is better than Colorado, I sense that the end is near. Hyper and Fish lasted this long (Hyper barely playing) and have found themselves out of the playoffs a week before the deadline. Still waiting to see what big solo said he was cooking. (DOWN 3)
Number 9. Ottawa. Well. How the mighty have fallen. Following a 7-2 start, the Sens said let’s see if we can do that but reverse. And they did. A 2-7 week drops them all the way to 4th in the east and prompted a destruction of the roster. Out of the original drafted team 2 will remain strong. Looking for a bounce back week in week 3. (DOWN 6)
Number 10. This is the part of the list that won’t change for the foreseeable future. Pittsburgh. Despite having their GM quit down 2-0 on a Tuesday, they fought hard and showed a lot of heart. New GM smitty will need to quickly turn the ship around if they want to catch Ottawa. (Same)
Number 11. Anaheim. The Ducks are the best of the worst! We are 2 weeks in and 3 of their top 4 picks (other one being traded) have played a combined 6 games with first round pick playing 0. This was seen from a mile away however and no trade egg will make sure the day 1 team will be the team he ends with. (Same)
Number 12. The New York Islanders. Well, they won a game! My new home will need a comeback for the ages if we want to sneak into the playoffs. I think I could be the guy for the job. Sports Geek has now traded his first 3 picks of the draft in what will certainly be a model for new GMs on what not to do. (Same for the next 4 weeks)
Thanks for reading this junk. I try hard. Keep telling me I’m an idiot. To the people who don’t like truc, get used to it, I’m comin in hot this week.
