SPNHL, Season 37: Week One – Players of the Week

Welcome back to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 37. New GMs have been picked, captaincy has been given and new players are trying to prove a point as to why they are the absolute best in the league. Will this season show more dominant offence, defence or goaltending? Only one way to find out and that is to tune in every week to Players of the Week.
 
Forwards: 
Fluri37: 6 GP, 15 G, 16 A, 31 P, 5.2 PPG, +14, 92 GV, 25 TK.
After winning the Stanley Cup last season with the Calgary Flames, Fluri is now a member of the Vegas Golden Knights and has picked up right where he left off. Normally known more as a defensive forward, Fluri has stepped up his game to start the season and is at an astonishing 5.2 PPG. In just 6 games, he had 15 goals and 16 assists, so is doing his fair share of the scoring and setting up plays himself. Will this pace be sustainable for Fluri? Only time will tell.

Defence:

PistolPete not only changes teams this season going from Nashville back to Tampa, but he also changes his primary position to left defence. After one week of the season, the change seems to be a very good one. With 32 takeaways in week 1 and adding an outstanding 5 goals for a defenseman and 8 assists, there was no doubt Pete deserved player of the week for this week.

Goalie:
ciulla19: 6 GP, 5-1, .851 SV%, 1.67 GAA, 1 SO.
Last but not least, the player of the week for goaltenders goes to Ciulla19. This was a difficult decision to make, but what ultimately took it for me was Ciulla had a much better record than the honorable mentions and a much better goals against average. Whether that’s because of the team in front of him we’ll find out soon. But ciulla did enough and more to help his team to 5 wins this week and had a 1.67 GAA to prove it.
