SPNHL S40 Allstar Tourney

SPNHL S40 Allstar Tourney

Hey SP! It’s been a few seasons but I had a pretty cool idea for a potential Allstar game/tournament. Here’s some brief ideas/details on how it could work.

How rosters will be chosen:

  • Every team will have at least one player represented (Chosen by their GM)
  • This tournament will have 4 teams, 2 made up of Eastern conference players and 2 made up of Western conference players
  • Grand total of 6 Forward, 4 Defencemen and 2 Goalies per conference
  • Additionally, 2 Forwards, 1 Defencemen and 1 Goalie will be nominated for each conference and act as subs in case a player can’t make the event
  • Other than the 12 players appointed an allstar by their GMs the remainder of the squads will be filled through a community vote

Allstar Eligibility: In order to be included in the vote you must fit this criterion

  • Played in 50% games of the season or on pace to complete that many games (23 GP)
  • Forwards: Above league average PPG or Total Points
  • Defenceman: Above league average PPG or Total Points or GV:TK
  • Goalies: Above league average SV% or Wins

Date: TBD (Looking at a Friday during the playoffs or perhaps a Thursday)

Scheduling:

  • 9pm/945pm est- East vs East, West vs West (Best of 2, Aggregate goal total)
  • 1030pm est- Winner of East vs East and Winner of West vs West

Vote: Voting details TBD, done through a google poll If you like this idea and would like to see it implemented this season, some feedback would be greatly appreciated!  Any other ideas to potentially make it better are also welcomed.

SPNHL S40 Week 2 Power Rankings

SPNHL S40 Week 2 Power Rankings

This week we’re doing things a bit different.  I will first show the week 1 power rankings then based on how teams did week 2, where they are now and how many spots they moved.  I will then move into talking about the 3 hottest teams of the week (either could be how many spot they moved up or kept consistent at the top).  Next, I’ll show the 3 coldest teams in league and why they are.  Finally, I will go through 3 bold predictions for next week.

Week 1 Power Rankings:

  1. Florida Panthers
  2. San Jose Sharks
  3. Pittsburgh Penguins
  4. Chicago Blackhawks
  5. Philadelphia Flyers
  6. Ottawa Senators
  7. Anaheim Ducks
  8. Buffalo Sabres
  9. Dallas Stars
  10. Colorado Avalanche
  11. Calgary Flames
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning

Week 2 Power Rankings:

  1. Florida Panthers (-)
  2. Philadelphia Flyers (+3)
  3. Chicago Blackhawks (+1)
  4. San Jose Sharks (-2)
  5. Ottawa Senators (+1)
  6. Pittsburgh Penguins (-3)
  7. Colorado Avalanche (+3)
  8. Buffalo Sabres (-)
  9. Dallas Stars (-)
  10. Anaheim Ducks (-3)
  11. Calgary Flames (-)
  12. Tampa Bay Lightning (-)

Another 7-2 week for the Panthers keeps them at top of the standings and also #1 in the power rankings.  Philly and Chicago both secured 15/18 possible points week 2 with records of 7-1-1 and 6-0-3 respectfully. They were able to leap frog San Jose, the Sharks had a very respectful week going 6-2-1 which is good enough for #4 in power rankings.

Reap and the Sens secured a 6-3 week which moves them into the 3rd spot in the stacked East.  Rook and the penguins still sitting pretty with the 4th and final playoff spot in the East and round out the top half of the PR.  The Avs didn’t have a great week going 4-4-1 but was good enough to pass teams like Buffalo, Dallas and Anaheim who round out spots 7 through 10.

The Sabres and Stars stayed put however an abysmal 0-5-1 start to week 2 for the Ducks moved them out of a playoff spot in the weaker West. Good news is they’re only 1 point out.  Calgary and Tampa hold down the bottom 2, there’s some hope for Calgary who are only 4 points out of the playoffs but the 0-9 week for the Lightning pretty much sent them golfing in the stacked East.

Who’s Hot

Philadelphia Flyers:

The hottest team in the SPNHL at the moment is the Flyers.  After a 7-1-1 week, the team will get newly acquired Whitetees in the lineup after he was unable to play week 2.  Peacekeeper’s squad is extremely deep and regardless of the 6 players in the lineup they have a chance to win any game against any team. Getting 9 games from Aali and Tees is nice and the supporting cast of Benji, Wardo, Jmm and Chelios are also putting together great seasons so far.  Look out for these going forward.

Ottawa Senators:

Looking like my last week prediction of this Sens team being one of the better teams Reap put together is staying true.  Reap and Cupi are both top 3 in scoring and show no sign in slowing down, they’re getting good defensive play by moving out of the bottom 5 in goals against and great goaltending from Jeiel.  Now I know there are teams like Florida and Philly in the east but, I believe this team is an elite Dman or Center away from being contenders.

Colorado Avalanche:

Okay here’s the thing, I know this team only went 4-4-1 week 2 and still sit below .500 on the season however, they moved up 3 spots in the PR and I see a change of fortune going forward with Pliskin’s squad.  Getting 6 games from their top C Dudnastyy is huge for the team this week. Unfortunately, they’re missing their top Dman Doug this week but the west is so bad that these guys could potentially run away with that 3rd spot if they have a good week.

Who’s Cold

Anaheim Ducks:

When you think about teams that got hit hard with availability, the Ducks are the perfect embodiment of this.  A horrible 2-6-1 week pushed them out of the playoffs and into the bottom 3 in PR.  Some good news is, they got both Bartlett brothers and Lg playoffs will be over in 2 weeks.  A top line of Bart-Bart-Hardiie with Pete and Shep should be one of the best lines in the league however, they haven’t been able to ice them together much.  If Cookie’s team can hold out for another 1-2 weeks they have potential to be dark horses come playoffs if they can qualify.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

Speaking of teams that have potential, Rookie’s penguins is a team that has a lot of it.  However, this team is sitting in the top 5 for goals for (which is great) but bottom 3 in goals against.  They do hold that 4th and final playoff spot however, the team’s inability to keep pucks out of the net is scary.  The Penguins are going to need Woy to go 3-0 every week while to rest of the team to pull up their socks if they want to have any chance to go far in the playoffs in the stacked East.  Possibly moving one of their many forwards and acquiring another Dman to play with kid to split time with stalechips could be the answer they’re looking for.

San Jose Sharks:

Okay hear me out, how in the world is a team who is top 4 in PR and just went 6-2-1 cold?  I’ll explain, this team’s top line going into week 2 is among one of the best in the league however, they were playing teams in the shitty Western conference.  This week against the 6 east teams will be a huge test for them, they have a huge lead on 2nd place in the west and they do have the talent to maintain that spot however with the changeover in roster, I see them having a down week.

Bold Predictions

  1. Dallas turns it around week 3:  Devon did a great job retooling his roster yet again, acquiring vets like Eggman, Dptickler, Lomax and Chad.  Adding them to a roster with Jhardy gives them the best they’ve had so far.  The San Jose/Dallas trade is a head scratcher for me, changing roster’s like that drastically when a team is already doing great is high risk but high reward.  Devon win’s this deal even though Lomax is only 3 a week, Chad’s ability to steal games will come in handy for Dallas.
  • Philly passes Florida for 1st in the East: Philly has way better availability than the Panthers and this week against western conference opponents should be a breeze for both these teams.  If Florida maintains top spot I wouldn’t be surprised however, I believe Monday’s 1030 game could be make or break for who stays 1st place in the East.
  • Tampa doubles their wins on the season:  After a 0-9 week 2, there is no way the Lightning don’t win a game against the shitty west opponents.  With only 2 wins on the season, I see this team picking up 2-3 wins this week.  At this point though, Icey should be looking to expand his roster and getting players who are looking to have fun and potentially upset some teams and play spoiler.

If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! I love constructive feedback and discussing things I might’ve missed, my dms are open! If you hated it, then too bad go write your own article!

Good luck week 3 SP! Tammygoat Boy Wonder

SPNHL, Season 40: Week One – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 40: Week One – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend

Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 40. I am back with another weekly edition of players of the week, where my job is to boost some egos, cause some arguments, and probably get someone to hate me for not picking them along the way. But regardless, if you hate me for not picking you for a POTW, you don’t deserve to have an ego boost. Anyways, enough with the flaming, without further ado, here are your players of the week!

Forwards:
LeCupidon: 8 GP, 15 G, 14 A, 29 P, 3.6 PPG, +7, 105 GV, 23 TK, 36 INT

One half of the long time SPNHL duo, Cupe has himself another incredible week as expected, and is the early frontrunner to win the scoring race. Tied for first among all forwards in points, Cupe tallied 15 goals and 14 assists for the Ottawa Senators, and with the help of his buddy Reapz, have Ottawa sitting in a playoff position. These two are the leaders of Ottawa, and they are going to need these two to continue their dominance to get into a playoff position by season’s end.

Honorable Mentions:
WhiteTees41: 8 GP, 16 G, 13 A, 29 P, 3.6 PPG, +6, 88 GV, 15 TK, 30 INT
Jmm420: 8 GP, 11 G, 17 A, 27 P, 3.4 PPG, +9, 91 GV, 33 TK, 43 INT
Hardiie-: 5 GP, 10 G, 12 A, 22 P, 4.4 PPG, +4, 67 GV, 9 TK, 17.

Defence:
Mpurch: 9 GP, 2 G, 10 A, 12 P, 1.3 PPG, +20, 34 GV, 23 TK, 83 INT.

The San Jose Sharks currently sit atop of the Western Conference at 6-2-1, and at large part thanks to defender of the week, Mpurch. Participating in every game San Jose played last week, Mpurch had 2 goals and 10 assists, good enough for 1.3 points per game, and led all defenders in points for week 1. On top of the offensive production, Mpurch had 23 takeaways and 83 interceptions last week, which is over 9 interceptions per game. Mpurch locked down an entire side like a shutdown corner in football, and pitched in on offence enough. If Mpurch keeps performances like this up every week, the Norris may be his.

Honorable Mentions:
Bizness101: 7 GP, 2 G, 10 A, 12 P, 1.3 PPG, +20, 34 GV, 23 TK, 83 INT.
Kidmon3y: 8 GP, 1 G, 8 A, 9 P, 1.1 PPG, +2, 15 GV, 11 TK, 26 INT.
JAGGED1183: 5 GP, 1 G, 5 A, 6 P, 1.2 PPG, +7. 24 GV, 9 TK, 24 INT.

Goalie:
chadkillz124: 8 GP, 6-2, .843 SV%, 1.75 GAA, 2 SO.

The reigning Vezina trophy winner and Hart Memorial winner from season 39, Chad continues his dominance in season 40 with an outstanding week, and a player of the week award for all goaltenders. Going 6-2 in 8 games for San Jose, Chad had a .843 save percentage and 2 shutouts for good measure. Chad is the unanimous best goaltender currently in SP, but he has not won a Stanley Cup since season 34 despite his dominance. Will this season be the season he makes it back, and carry another team to a cup? Or will his back break by the time playoffs come.

Honorable Mention:
xXStreetxGodXx: 5 GP, 4-1, .819 SV%, 3.00 GAA, 0 SO.
ciulla19: 7 GP, 5-2, .800 SV%, 2.86 GAA, 0 SO

SPNHL SEASON 40 WEEK 1 POWER RANKINGS

SPNHL SEASON 40 WEEK 1 POWER RANKINGS

One week down, four more to go. After week 1, we typically start to see which team will stay up top and which teams will fill the bottom of the standings however both conferences are super close in the standings from 1-6. These articles I plan on going through team leaders in the major stats and also predictions of how they will do in the next week.

12) Tampa Bay Lightning (6th in the East) 2-6-1 8th GF 12th GA

Goals: Curtis/NowYoDead 8
Assists: Curtis/NowYoDead 10
Points: Curtis/NowYoDead 18
PTS/GP: Curtis 3.0
D Points: Icey 4
Giveaways: Curtis 105
Takeaways: NowYoDead 27
Interceptions: Curtis 52
Goalie Wins: Skillz 2
Save%: Skillz 78.02

After a 0-3 start to the season on Monday, the Lightning went 2-3-1 between Tuesday and Friday. Curtis moving to C looks to have helped this team start to get some wins however, they still have a long way to go if they want to make the playoffs. Skillz with a 2-2 record and 78 save% should see an increase of game time going forward.

Week 2 record Prediction: 2-7

11) Calgary Flames (6th in the West) 3-6-0 9th GF 11th GA

Goals: Ivan 8
Assists: Ivan 13
Points: Ivan 21
PTS/GP: Ajax 3.3
D Points: Predator 8
Giveaways: Ivan 89
Takeaways: Predator 27
Interceptions: Predator 69
Goalie Wins: Dusty 2
Save%: Dusty 67.71%

A 0-3 Friday night spoiled the Flames 3-3 start to the week, good news is they’re only 2 points out of the playoffs in the weaker Western conference. Ivan and Predator both carrying the load with 9 games played each and leading the team in most categories. The Flames goaltending seems to have let them down with both goalies averaging less than a 70 save%.

Week 2 record Prediction: 2-7
10) Colorado Avalanche (5th in the west) 3-5-1 T-12th GF T-8th GA

Goals: Dudnastyy/Lilj/Pxsternak 3
Assists: Dudnastyy 7
Points: Dudnastyy 10
PTS/GP: Dudnastyy 5.0
D Points: Doug 5
Giveaways: Pxsternak 45
Takeaways: Doug 26
Interceptions: Doug 60
Goalie Wins: Pliskin 3
Save%: Vandoos 76.92

A 2-0-1 Friday night saved the Avs brutal 1-5 start to the week, 12 goals in 3 games was more than the 11 goals they scored in the previous 6 games. The Dudnastyy/Lilj/Pxsternak line went 2-0 in their games Friday while their rock on Defense Doug carried the load defensively with 9 GPs and Pliskin with 8 GPs in net showed a respectable 75 save%.

Week 2 record Prediction: 4-5

9) Dallas Stars (4th in the west) 3-4-2 T-12th GF T-8th GA

Goals: Jhardy 9
Assists: Jhardy 6
Points: Jhardy 15
PTS/GP: Jhardy 2.5
D Points: Teamrun 5
Giveaways: Jhardy 82
Takeaways: Jhardy 27
Interceptions: Jhardy 37
Goalie Wins: Devon 2
Save%: Devon 77%

Devon did a great job retooling this team and it paid off as they’re sitting in that 4th and final playoff spot in the west. Jhardy seems to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting as he leads his team in multiple stats, Devon acquired Sliyum and Buff to take over the goalie duties. The defense on this team is super weak, Shady and Buff will be busy this week.

Week 2 record Prediction: 2-7

8) Buffalo Sabres (5th in the East) T-12th GF 3rd GA

Goals: Semple 7
Assists: Semple 6
Points: Semple 13
PTS/GP: Sedin 2.5
D Points: Moo/Bstie 4
Giveaways: Semple 61
Takeaways: Semple 16
Interceptions: Sedin 34
Goalie Wins: Drunk 2
Save%: Porkchop 84

Sedin’s band of misfits had a difficult time finding the back of the net week 1 however, they did a good job keeping pucks out. This team has some offensive fire power so I’ll consider this an off week for them unless the struggles continue next week. Their goaltending has been amazing with both goalies Drunk and Porkchop posting above 80 save%.

Week 2 record Prediction: 4-5

7) Anaheim Ducks (3rd in the West) 5-4-0 5th GF 6th GA

Goals: Whitetees 16
Assists: Whitetees 13
Points: Whitetees 29
PTS/GP: Hardiie 4.4
D Points: Aetherxal 4
Giveaways: Whitetees 88
Takeaways: Aetherxal 18
Interceptions: Aetherxal 34
Goalie Wins: Shawn 1
Save%: Shawn 78.95

Ducks went 5-4 last week, availability sounded like that was their issue and it looks like it’ll continue week 2 with Tees playing 0 games (according to the site). Insert Pete, he will slot in nicely as a replacement this week and move back to LD week 3. Shep (Atherxal) was a super util playing 5 D games and 4 F games, cook moved sliyum so he can be a tandem with Shawn.

Week 2 Prediction: 5-4

6) Ottawa Senators (4th in the East) 5-3-1 T-3rd GF T-10th GA

Goals: Lecupidon 15
Assists: Reapz 15
Points: Lecupidon 29
PTS/GP: Scotch 3.8
D Points: Bizness 11
Giveaways: Lecupidon 105
Takeaways: Reapz 28
Interceptions: Noto 51
Goalie Wins: Jeiel 3
Save%: Jeiel 83.49
I feel like it is the same narrative every season with Reap’s squad: top 5 in GF, bottom 5 in GA. However, this season I believe this team could break that cycle. Reap and Cupi duo is having a great start to the season. The Dpair of bizness and Noto is also having a good start while their prized goaltender Jeiel is putting in work with an 83 save%.

Week 2 Prediction: 5-4

5) Philadelphia Flyers (3rd in the East) 5-3-1 T-1st GF 5th GA

Goals: Aali 12
Assists: Jmm 17
Points: Jmm 27
PTS/GP: Aali 4.2
D Points: Benji 7
Giveaways: Jmm 91
Takeaways: Jmm 33
Interceptions: Jmm 43
Goalie Wins: Peace/Mike 2
Save%: Smokey 73.68

Flyers had a strong week one, even with limited games from their 1st round pick Bart. This team is tied for first place in goals for and top 5 in goals against. Jmm and Aali are off to hot starts leading the offence while Benji is holding down the fort with 8 games played of defense. Expect more weeks like this one if not even better going forward.

Week 2 Prediction: 6-3

4) Chicago Blackhawks (2nd in the West) 6-3-0 T-6th GF 4th GA

Goals: Tommy 11
Assists: Kotkaniemi 11
Points: Tommy 20
PTS/GP: Zach 3.3
D Points: uStooPiid 7
Giveaways: Tommy 99
Takeaways: Kotkaniemi 23
Interceptions: Kotkaniemi 42
Goalie Wins: Shock 5
Save%: Shock 77.63

After a 5-0 start to the week, the Hawks dropped the next 3 games however, they finished off strong with a OT win over Tampa. The team went 5-0 against the Western conference while only going 1-3 in the East, with a week against division opponents, they need to get back on track.

Week 2 Prediction: 6-3
3) Pittsburgh Penguins (2nd in the East) 6-2-1 T-3rd GF T-10th in GA

Goals: Neon 15
Assists: Fluri/Woy 12
Points: Neon 25
PTS/GP: Woy 5.3
D Points: Kid 9
Giveaways: Neon 97
Takeaways: Fluri 27
Interceptions: Fluri 66
Goalie Wins: StreetGod 4
Save%: StreetGod 81.93

Ladies and gentlemen your eyes do not deceive you, that is not an error TopCheeseNeon is leading the team in scoring. Much like Ottawa this team is top 5 in goals for and bottom 5 in goals against. After an impressive 3-0 start the team dropped the next 3 games on Tuesday however, they went 3-0 again on Friday night. Expect Fluri and Woy to continue their play, Kid holding the fort down with 8Gps of defense. Streetgod is 4-1 with a 81 save%.

Week 2 Prediction: 5-4

2) San Jose Sharks (1st in the West) 6-2-1 T-1st in GF, T-1st in GA

Goals: Fish 11
Assists: Randy 14
Points: Randy 23
PTS/GP: Fish/Mason 4.3
D Points: Purch 12
Giveaways: Lomax 85
Takeaways: Purch 23
Interceptions: Purch 83
Goalie Wins: Chad 6
Save%: Chad 84.27

The Sharks are on fire going into week 2. This team’s top line is deadly and able to compete with the best in the league. Randy and Lo are leading the troops on offence while Purch is quietly putting together a Norris caliber start to the season. Chad being Chad, nothing new here.

Week 2 Prediction 6-3

1) Florida Panthers (1st in the East) 7-1-1 T-6th GF T-1st GA

Goals: Chico 14
Assists: Chico 11
Points: Chico 25
PTS/GP: Chico 3.1
D Points: Eggman 8
Giveaways: Chico 99
Takeaways: Chico 32
Interceptions: Chico 52
Goalie Wins: Ciulla 5
Save%: Josh 100 2SOs

This team was the favorites to me out of the draft and they proved why they are in week 1 going 7-1-1 only losing to Pittsburgh and Colorado. Chico is everywhere on the stats leaders and is a big reason why this team is doing so well. With so much talent on this team expect more weeks just like this in the future.

Week 2 Prediction 7-2

Hope everyone enjoyed, let’s have a fun 2nd week!

SPNHL SEASON 40 PRE-SEASON RANKINGS

SPNHL SEASON 40 PRE-SEASON RANKINGS

Hello SP! Sorry I took a season off of doing articles, was bombarded with papers and assignments in my 2nd semester. Excited to be able to get some media going for the league. In this article, I will take a look at the team’s rosters and give every player a letter grade based on how I feel their skill set fits the league. If you disagree with me, go write your own article! Let’s start in the East

For Reference:
A+: Best of the best
A: Elite
B+: Above Average
B: Average
C+: Serviceable starter (better suited backup)
C: Good backup
D+: 10th roster guy
D: Should switch to PGA of FIFA
?: no info

Eastern Conference

Buffalo Sabres- GM: SedinPower

After creating a dynasty throughout the NHL17-19 seasons in SP, Sedin returns to give it another crack. He was able to grab the New Jersey Devils roster which he relocated to Buffalo (where he won a cup in s24) and resign his best pal and stud Bstieboy. He also made a trade to acquire another RD in MooCowTit who will likely be his defence partner this season.

LW: Semple B+
C: Rollerpig A
RW: Bstie A
LD: Sedin A
RD: MooCowTit B
G: CDNporkchop C

Drunk ?
Eric C+
Sedinpower22 ?
Peach ?
Tommy Dubz D+
CMC_PGH22 ?
Dimebagdarrel42 ?

This will 100% be a playoff team, the one question mark I have for them is their goaltending situation, will the tandem of Porkchop, drunk and Darrel be enough for them to compete.

Florida Panthers: GM- toslick

Slick and his Leafs had a great season last time around finishing 1st in the east and losing to the Washington god squad in the semi-finals. He decided he was sick and tired of the Ontario lockdown and moved to somewhere warm Florida. Slick elected to use the resign draft and grabbed stud RD Jaguarknight and also made a couple trades acquiring Linde and another 1st round pick.

LW: Linde B
C: Holland A
RW: toslick B+
LD: Chico A
RD: Jaguar A
G: Ciulla A

Eggman C
Dptickler C+
Honest C
Josh C+

This team on paper shouldn’t lose more than 10 games this season, easily one of the deepest team in the league and have great options on their bench if any of their best 6 are not available.

Ottawa Senators: GM- Reapz

An amazing week 5 from Reapz and the Sens pushed them into the 4th and final playoff spot last season. They unfortunately were outed in round 1 but they’re looking to build off what they had last season. Guess what, Reapz resigns Cupidon and also acquires Jeiel for his 1st round pick (Even though Jeiel would’ve still been on the board at his pick).

LW: Reapz B+
C: Scotch B
RW: Lecupidon A
LD: Notorious C+
RD: Bizness C+
G: Jeiel B+

Lawsob C
Kawpow D+
Ustank ?
Chopeat ?

The defence on this team doesn’t impress me one bit however, scotch in between reapz and cupidon should be a forward line that is able to put up a lot of goals. Jeiel is going to be busy this season.

Philadelphia Flyers: GM- Peacekeeper

Peace is back in Philly and he is looking for some redemption after his last stint as a GM. He also elected to use the resign draft and grabbed Aali, Ben and Mike. This roster is one that is very interesting to me as he has a lot of players that are good at both the F and D position.

LW: Jmm B+
C: Wardo B
RW: Bart A
LD: Benji B+
RD: Aali A
G: Peace B

Mike B+
Chelios B
Solo: C
Drew: ?
Cixtimes: D+
Smokey: C+

This team is probably just as deep if not deeper than the Florida Panthers roster, with multiple ways to craft this lineup, Peace should be able to bring this team to the playoffs easily.

Pittsburgh Penguins: GM- Elrookie

Elrookie also moving his roster south of the border from Montreal to Pittsburgh. With excellent resign options in 3/week Woy and RD Kidmoney, rookie lucked out and won the draft lottery where he got the 9.5m man Fluri with his 1st overall pick.

LW: Woy A
C: Fluri A
RW: Elrookie C
LD: 5star C+
RD: Kidmoney B+
G: Vandoos C+

Xdc ?
Broken D+
Svech ?
Neon C
StreetGod ?
Hockeyguy ?

For me there’s a lot of question marks on this squad, Rookie will likely have to acquire a better F to play when Woy can’t and also a natural LD to play on that top line.

Tampa Bay Lightning: GM- Icey

Icey also relocated his squad from long island to sunny Tampa Bay, the season hasn’t started yet and already we have seen a huge changeover of players from this team. After resigning Clark, Linde and Lomax he traded away Linde and Lo and decided to draft his team around Clark….interesting choice. With a top 3 pick he decided to grab Curtis.

LW: Heroic C
C: Chief2Step B+
RW: NowYoDead B
LD: Stalechips C+
RD: Curtis B+
G: Icey D+

Clark D
D00van C
Skillz ?
Pugz D+
Ryo ?

Yikes, this roster is something out of a horror film, Icey has a couple good pieces in Curtis and Chief to build around but he has a lot of work to do if he wants to be any competitive in the stacked East.

Standings Prediction
1) Florida
2) Philadelphia
3) Buffalo
4) Ottawa
5) Pittsburgh
6) Tampa Bay

Western Conference

Anaheim Ducks: GM- El Cookie

Cook returns to the scene as GM of the former Stanley cup winning Washington Capitals. Most of that team “retired” so he elected to use the resign draft and he was the winner of this draft in my opinion. Grabbing studs in Whitetees, Hardiie and Frenchy who he later traded for G Sliyum.

LW: Whitetees A
C: Bartlett A
RW: Hardiie- A
LD: Aetherxal B+
RD: Asticks C+
G: Sliyum B+

Cook C
Fivepointohh C
Shawn C
Beast ?
Shadow C

This squad is home to one of the best top forward lines in the league and will be one that will put up a ton of goals, their only question mark is on RD, will Asticks be the guy going forward? I don’t think so.

Calgary Flames: GM- Cuban

After a not so good season 39, Cuban is looking for some redemption. He also decided to use the resign draft this time around and acquired Lemon scented Ajax and Ilovehugejugs. Unfortunately, he lost the lottery but somehow got the best player on the board in Hypey.

LW: Ivan C
C: Hypey A
RW: Ajax B
LD: Cuban C+

Hypey better bring his backpack and a duffle bag because he’s going to have his work cut out for him this season. The top line will be able to survive in this league but other than that, Cuban is in for a long season.

Chicago Blackhawks: GM- Tammy

I decided that it was too warm in the desert so I moved north to the windy city. To be honest with everyone, I imagined my team looking A LOT differently prior to the draft but I am happy with how the squad turned out. I resigned Prod who is easily a top player in this league and we’re ready to go to the finals for 4 seasons in a row.

LW: Prod A+
C: Kotkaniemi A+
RW: Tammy A+
LD: UstooPiid A+
RD: Freeze A+
G: Bufford A+

Zachary A+
Foosty A+
Shock A+
Hellsfyre A+
Pghfanatic A+

This should be a playoff team, maybe even first in the west but crazier things have happened.

Colorado Avalanche: GM- Pickle Plisk

Pliskin’s Avs had a great playoff run last season losing in round 1 to the Arizona Coyotes. He resigned 3/week Dudnastyy and let Whitetees go into the resign draft (bold strategy cotton). Plisk’s team is one that I am unsure how it will do this coming season, having Dud, Lilj and Sean for only Fridays makes the rest of the squad difficult to manage.

LW: Pxsternak B
C: Dudnastyy A
RW: Liljegren A
LD: Doug B+
RD: M1keal B
G: Pliskin B

Guentzel B+
Ush D+
Dancer C
Lidstrom C

The west is a lot weaker than the east so I believe this squad will easily fight for that 3rd spot maybe even 2nd spot however, they’ll need more than only Friday from their resign if they want to be competitive in the playoffs.

Dallas Stars: GM- Devon

Props to Devon for taking over this team, he very quickly put his plan in motion acquiring assets Turtle, Frenchy, Joey and Jhardy. The team is looking different but possibly better than the original squad.

LW: Pete B+
C: Frenchy B
RW: JHardy B
LD: Teamrun C
RD: Joey C+
G: Devon C+

Buzzy C
Turtle C+
Dalton D+
Uccs C

This team does not have any superstars, although Pete, Frenchy and Jhardy are decent players, will it be enough for this team to compete for the playoffs?

San Jose Sharks: GM- Randy

After a dreadful season from the sharks in s39, Randy takes over the squad and looking to turn things around. He resigned former sharks GM Exe and his trusted friend on RD Mpurch, Randy also traded a bag of pucks for one of the more reliable forwards in the league in Lomax. Not to mention, with his 1st round pick he takes the best goalie on the board in Chad.

LW: Fishhure B+
C: Lo-Max B
RW: Randy B+
LD: Exe B
RD: Mpurch B
G: Chad A+

Neeposh C+
Luckyceez C
Jagged D+
a-mason D+

Any team with chad is easily a playoff squad because of his ability to steal games that teams have no business winning. The starting line for this team is going to be difficult to play against with their big builds and fish’s offensive talent.

Standings Prediction
1) Chicago 😉
2) Anaheim
3) San Jose
4) Colorado
5) Calgary
6) Dallas

Hope you enjoyed my article, Looking forward to a fun competitive season!

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Five – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Five – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend

Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39, week 5 edition! The regular season is finally over, and it is now time for playoffs. While a lot of teams didn’t have trouble clinching a final playoff spot, it is important to go into the playoffs with a little bit of momentum and confidence. Players are trying to find their playoff groove before playoffs in order to ride the hot streak all the way to a hopeful cup final appearance. And honestly, a lot of players had outstanding offensive weeks, so lots of players should have confidence going in. That should make for a real fun and competitive playoffs. Anyways, without further ado, here are your players of the week.

Forwards:
The-Freak-Show2: 8 GP, 27 G, 26 A, 53 P, 6.6 PPG, +31, 76 GV, 17 TK, 35 INT

Freak-Show had an outstanding week for the Washington Capitals, helping them solidify second place in the Eastern Conference. Only missing out on first place by a point, Washington is going to need this type of offensive production for a deep playoff run. New Jersey will be no easy task for the Capitals, but New Jersey is going to have a hard time if Freak-Show continues this type of production. Having both a hat trick per game and 3 assists per game, Freak-Show was a literal freak last week, and look for Washington to rely on him to move on to round 2.

Honorable Mentions:
iZinczyi: 6 GP, 19 G, 21 A, 40 P, 6.7 PPG, +23, 51 GV, 20 TK, 28 INT
Iam-beanzy: 7 GP, 12 G, 25 A, 37 P, 5.3 PPG, +19, 101 GV, 21 TK, 38 INT
LeCupidon: 8 GP, 16 G, 21 A, 37 P, 4.6 PPG, +10, 107 GV, 30 TK, 39 INT.

Defence:
TheMooCowTit: 6 GP, 2 G, 11 A, 13 P, 2.2 PPG, +12, 9 GV, 21 TK, 47 INT.

TheMowCowTit (lol) had an outstanding week both on the offensive side and defensive side on the ice. In 6 games for Dallas, he had 2 goals and 11 assists, good enough for 2.2 points per game and a player of the week award. Adding to his offensive production was his defence. In 6 games last week, he only had 9 giveaways. That’s absurd. He was responsible with the puck, and was a headache for opposing forwards as well with 21 takeaways and 47 interceptions. Dallas has a stacked roster, so while they might not rely only on MooCow, he will be an important piece for them if they want to make it to the finals.

Honorable Mentions:
Jaguarknight_: 6 GP, 2 G, 11 A, 12 P, 2.2 PPG, +11, 45 GV, 20 TK, 48 INT.
uStooPiiD: 6 GP, 7 G, 10 A, 17 P, 2.8 PPG, +4, 29 GV, 9 TK, 32 INT.
rich2k8: 6 GP, 1 G, 7 A, 8 P, 1.3 PPG, +11. 38 GV, 17 TK, 53 INT.
Goalie:
chadkillz134: 9 GP, 6-3, .887 SV%, 1.78 GAA, 2 SO.

For the third straight week in a row, Chad not only wins goaltender of the week, but he also topped his performance again! While he went 6-3 instead this week which is technically worse than last week, his individual performance was better. With a .887 save percentage, 1.78 goals against average AND 2 shutouts to go along with all that, Chad is going into the playoffs on an incredible tear. While Toronto is very good from top to bottom, having Chad behind all the talent is just an embarrassment of riches. Any team is going to have trouble against Chad in the playoffs, and honestly, I’m not sure if anyone’s going to get past him for awhile.

Honorable Mention:
Jeiel9876: 6 GP, 3-3, .794 SV%, 2.33 GAA, 0 SO.
Bigtruss7786: 6 GP, 4-2, .787 SV%, 2.17 GAA, 1 SO

Season 39: Week Four – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Four – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend
Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39, week 4 edition! There is only one more week of the season to go, the trade deadline has passed, and teams are finishing their last set of games before the playoffs. High octane offences still prevail over a good defence so far in the regular season, but whether that’s the same case in the playoffs is yet to be determined. Some players are getting into playoff form, putting up spectacular performances and trying to go into the playoffs on a hot streak. There’s only one more week to go, but without further ado, here’s your week four players of the week.
Forwards:
toslick: 8 GP, 20 G, 19 A, 39 P, 4.9 PPG, +25, 59 GV, 22 TK, 30 INT
The Toronto Maple Leafs have now pulled ahead of the Washington Capitals, and a big reason for that is toslick. Toslick led the league in points in week 4 with 39, putting up 20 goals and 19 assists. Scoring about 2.5 goals per game and a little under 2.4 assists per game this week, toslick was a man on a mission to help propel his team to first in the conference. They are now the big bad in the East, and Washington either needs to turn it around, or else Toronto may clinch first place pretty easily.
Honorable Mentions:
xB-Red94: 6 GP, 18 G, 17 A, 35 P, 5.8 PPG, +29, 61 GV, 21 TK, 36 INT
The-Freak-Show2: 6 GP, 17 G, 13 A, 30 P, 5.0 PPG, +19, 46 GV, 18 TK, 33 INT
GrammyHands: 6 GP, 14 G, 14 A, 28 P, 4.7 PPG, 20, 58 GV, 26 TK, 47 INT.
Defence:
zappaforever: 9 GP, 0 G, 13 A, 13 P, 1.6 PPG, +5, 27 GV, 29 TK, 83 INT.
A new winner to the defencemen of the week, zappaforever had an amazing week on both ends of the ice for the LA kings. Zappa had no goals this week, but he did have 13 assists, helping the offence whenever he can. What really stood out to me this week however is the fact that he had a positive takeaway/giveaway ratio, and on top of that, had 83 interceptions. That is some stellar defensive play and amazing responsibility with the puck. LA currently sits in 4th in the West, but if Zappa keeps up this type of play, they could very well make their way up the standings in the last week of the season
Honorable Mentions:
Jaguarknight_: 6 GP, 1 G, 13 A, 14 P, 2.3 PPG, +20, 50 GV, 15 TK, 46 INT.
EL_R_O_O_K_I_E: 7 GP, 0 G, 9 A, 9 P, 1.3 PPG, +11, 48 GV, 27 TK, 36 INT.
CapitalsFan_08: 5 GP, 1 G, 9 A, 10 P, 2.0 PPG, +24. 16 GV, 11 TK, 39 INT.
Goalie:
chadkillz134: 9 GP, 7-2, .861 SV%, 2.11 GAA, 1 SO.
Chad tops his performance from last week and wins player of the week amongst goaltenders again. In 9 games played this week, Chad improved his performance from last week with a better save percentage, better goals against average and a shutout to top it all of. His record stayed the same, but even though toslick helped the team a lot on offence, Chad did just as much if not more on defence. He faced the most shots by far amongst any goaltenders this week and still put up spectacular numbers. Look for Chad to continue his elite goaltending to a potential Vezina, and maybe even a trip to the finals if he keeps it up.
Honorable Mention:
TopCheeseNeon: 6 GP, 4-2, .823 SV%, 2.50 GAA, 0 SO.
ciulla19: 5 GP, 3-2, .825 SV%, 2.00 GAA, 1 SO

Season 39: Week Three – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Three – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend
Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39, week 3 edition! Last week, we had a Dallas sweep. This week, we got a bit more variety coming your way. New players have finally emerged as players of the week, and are finally stepping up for their respective teams.Trades have been made that have shaken the landscape of the season, and there may not be a clear cut favourite anymore. However, Dallas is still the team to beat, but the gap between Dallas and the rest is a lot smaller than it was a week ago. Anyway, without further ado, here are your players of the week for week 3.
Forwards:
LeCupidon: 9 GP, 14 G, 22 A, 36 P, 4.0 PPG, +25, 99 GV, 23 TK, 35 INT
The Ottawa Senators had a rough start to the season, but finally turned it around in week 3, finishing on a 6 game winning streak. A huge part of the reason for the Senators turnaround, is it seems that Cupidon has finally awoken. With 14 goals and 22 assists last week with a +25 rating to go along with it, Cupidon did everything in his power to get Ottawa back into a good spot. Now only 6 points back of the 3rd place team in the East, the Sens have caught up a lot of ground, and are going to need Cupidon to continue his amazing play to keep up the momentum.
Honorable Mentions:
Fluri37: 9 GP, 21 G, 13 A, 34 P, 3.8 PPG, +2, 88 GV, 28 TK, 43 INT
SMOKESHOWJOE: 9 GP, 10 G, 24 A, 38 P, 3.8 PPG, +20, 61 GV, 20 TK, 56 INT
Whitetees41: 6 GP, 16 G, 10 A, 26 P, 4.3 PPG, +5, 68 GV, 9 TK, 11 INT.
Defence:
DougCBJ: 9 GP, 1 G, 11 A, 12 P, 1.3 PPG, +13, 31 GV, 20 TK, 71 INT.
DougCBJ makes his way onto the player of the week list for the New Jersey Devils, having a tremendous week both offensively and defensively. He had 1 goal and 11 assists this week, but also had 20 takeaways and 71 interceptions on the week! He may have not had the most points among all defenders this week, but add in his stellar defensive play, and he topples the rest. The Devils currently sit tied for 2nd in the East, and are going to need Doug to continue his play to try to catch up to the Capitals.
Honorable Mentions:
uStooPiiD: 7 GP, 3 G, 9 A, 12 P, 1.7 PPG, +5, 42 GV, 17 TK, 54 INT.
harkov47: 8 GP, 1 G, 12 A, 13 P, 1.6 PPG, +12, 70 GV, 24 TK, 56 INT.
curtisx18x: 8 GP, 1 G, 9 A, 10 P, 1.3 PPG, +15. 54 GV, 18 TK, 45 INT.
Goalie:
chadkillz134: 9 GP, 7-2, .832 SV%, 2.56 GAA, 0 SO.
Chad had the best week among all goaltenders by far. Going 7-2 for the Toronto Maple Leafs with a .832 save percentage and 2.56 goals against. Chad was stellar in his play and had a lot to do in net, facing 137 shots this week (15.22 shots per game). If it weren’t for Chad, I’m not sure if the Leafs have a 7-2 record. The Leafs are going to need to keep relying on Chad to play at his Vezina level self if they want to catch up to the Capitals in first. Chad will be a puzzle for any skater to solve, as he can single handedly steal a series.
Honorable Mention:
Matrikstl: 6 GP, 3-3, .761 SV%, 3.50 GAA, 2 SO.
SgtVandoos: 6 GP, 3-3, .760 SV%, 3.17 GAA, 0 SO

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Two – Players of the Week

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Two – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend
Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39. I am back with the weekly Player of the Week articles to fuel your egos and give you something to brag about for a solid 10 minutes before going back to irrelevancy (kidding). The first week had some high scoring players, so without further ado, let’s get into it.
Forwards:
Iam-beanzy: 8 GP, 19 G, 13 A, 32 P, 4.0 PPG, +23, 148 GV, 23 TK, 44 INT
Beanzy earns the first player of the week among forwards in Season 39. This shouldn’t be surprising to most people, as Bean has a history of earning awards in SP, and yet again proves why he is one of the best players in the league. With 19 goals and 13 assists in week 1 with a +23, he helped his Dallas Stars to an 8-1 week and first place in the league. Will Bean make Tommy regret trading him at the draft? So far, it looks like it.
Honorable Mentions:
LeCupidon: 9 GP, 22 G, 16 A, 38 P, 4.2 PPG, -2, 129 GV, 17 TK, 43 INT
GrammyHands: 9 GP, 20 G, 13 A, 33 P, 3.7 PPG, +1, 148 GV, 30 TK, 63 INT
NTyrrell14: 9 GP, 14 G, 17 A, 31 P, 3.4 PPG, +8, 90 GV, 24 TK, 39.
Defence:
uStooPiiD: 7 GP, 3 G, 11 A, 14 P, 2.0 PPG, +15, 38 GV, 16 TK, 43 INT.
A new entrant to my player of the week articles, Dallas gets another player on the player of the week award. Stoopiid had an incredible week, having 3 goals and 11 assists with a +15. He currently leads all defenders in points and didn’t even play the full week last week. We will see if he is a product of Dallas, or if he is going to be one of the players Dallas relies on to show up night in and night out to be successful.
Honorable Mentions:
DougCBJ: 9 GP, 2 G, 11 A, 13 P, 1.4 PPG, +7, 30 GV, 29 TK, 72 INT.
LouieDeuce8: 8 GP, 0 G, 12 A, 12 P, 1.5 PPG, +27, 62 GV, 26 TK, 54 INT.
Curtisx18x: 5 GP, 1 G, 10 A, 11 P, 2.2 PPG, +22. 26 GV, 9 TK, 21 INT.
Goalie:
Polar-1387: 6 GP, 5-1, .844 SV%, 1.67 GAA, 1 SO.
Polar earns his first player of the week on the season, and it was definitely a close decision between him and the honorable mentions. It honestly could’ve went to anyone, but I gave it to Polar on his GAA category since save percentages were very close. With a .844 save percentage but allowing under 2 goals per game, Polar played very well in his first week. With a very good defensive Arizona team in front of him, Polar is the final nail in the coffin for the Yotes to frustrate other teams offensively. Getting by the defence and Polar will be a challenge for any team to face, and I’m curious to see if any team is up for the challenge.
Honorable Mention:
TopCheeseNeon: 7 GP, 6-1, .857 SV%, 2.00 GAA, 1 SO.
ciulla19: 6 GP, 5-1, .846 SV%, 2.00 GAA, 0 SO

SPNHL, Season 39: Week Two – Players of the Week
By: ProdigyToLegend
Welcome to SPNHL Players of the Week for Season 39, week 2 edition! Goals, goals and more goals! This week had a ton of players putting up huge numbers on both the offensive and defensive side. Just making it harder every week for a goaltender to look good, but, some did manage to find a way to have respectable numbers. Offence has been high so far this season, we’ll see if defence picks it up or if offence will just pave their way to glory every week.
Forwards:
Iam-beanzy: 8 GP, 25 G, 31 A, 56 P, 7.0 PPG, +33, 130 GV, 21 TK, 38 INT
Beanzy earns his second straight player of the week award with numbers that I don’t think many will ever replicate. This man had over a hat trick per game and almost 4 assists per game this week. Bean lit it up against anyone and everyone, and is a huge reason (or the main reason) why Dallas is the team to beat. If anyone wants any chance at stopping Dallas, your first goal should be how to slow down Bean.
Honorable Mentions:
Fluri37: 8 GP, 20 G, 30 A, 50 P, 6.3 PPG, +42, 71 GV, 31 TK, 54 INT
The-Freak-Show2: 6 GP, 15 G, 20 A, 35 P, 5.8 PPG, +29, 48 GV, 22 TK, 40 INT
iZinczyi: 6 GP, 16 G, 15 A, 31 P, 5.2 PPG, +24, 75 GV, 22 TK, 35 INT.
Defence:
uStooPiiD: 6 GP, 1 G, 16 A, 17 P, 2.8 PPG, +28, 36 GV, 21 TK, 53 INT.
Stoopiid also wins his second straight player of the week award. The Dallas Stars are filled with…superstars and every team in the league need to do something to try to slow them down. I am genuinely curious to know if the success on stat sheet for Dallas is due to good team play, or if we genuinely have 2 superstars on Dallas. Regardless, a 2.8 point per game pace for a defencemen is nothing to scoff at. With 1 goal and 16 assists on the week, Stoopiid had himself another incredible week, on top of all that, he also had just under 9 interceptions per game.
Honorable Mentions:
DougCBJ: 9 GP, 0 G, 13 A, 13 P, 1.4 PPG, +13, 21 GV, 19 TK, 70 INT.
Curtisx18x: 8 GP, 0 G, 14 A, 14 P, 1.8 PPG, +18, 42 GV, 22 TK, 50 INT.
harkov47: 7 GP, 1 G, 13 A, 14 P, 2.0 PPG, +1. 62 GV, 32 TK, 53 INT.
Goalie:
TopCheeseNeon: 8 GP, 8-0, .799 SV%, 2.50 GAA, 0 SO.
They have done it, they have swept the board. The third person from Dallas to win a player of the week award. This time, it’s Neon who wins goaltender of the week. Going a perfect 8-0, Neon had himself a stellar week. And it’s not like he didn’t face any shots, he still faced about 12 shots per game, and was still able to put up a .799 save percentage and 2.50 goals against. The Dallas roster is loaded, the question is, can they keep the momentum riding the whole season.
Honorable Mention:
Polar-1387: 5 GP, 4-2, .785 SV%, 2.33 GAA, 1 SO.
Knxght30: 6 GP, 4-2, .804 SV%, 3.00 GAA, 0 SO
