Team Previews and Predictions Post Draft
 
Hey all, it’s that guy everyone hates, seed. Here’s a rundown of every team’s roster including a post draft analysis of the team, what their top line is as per their gm(jay and reap never answered so I guessed), and where I see them finishing in their respective division, conference, and the entire league.
 
 
Disclaimer: This article will examine what the team looks like after the draft, if any trades have been made since the end of the draft and this article being written it will not be mentioned because I did not know about it

Roster analysis:
Pete resigned 2 defenseman, Dodges and Shaynestaa, who are definitely not the best defenseman in the league, but they can play well enough that the offense can win some games. Pete picked hyper aka vezina aka shortsideallowed aka mcdavid in the first round and he’ll most likely be near the top of the league in scoring, especially with that 3 season ban in lg giving him more time for sp. Mecca was picked in the second and topgoalie in the third, both of these guys could contend for rookie of the year. Nowyodead is a sp veteran and is making his return after a few seasons of not being around, let’s see how he does on defense. Steezy looks like a depth acquisition but could turn some heads as a rookie aswell. Appler was picked to finish out the roster, and he’s always a fun guy to have around.

Prediction:
This team could make some strides and will most likely make the playoffs because 12/16 teams make it. In the playoffs, they’ll go as far as their defense takes them, which doesn’t look very far either. Topgoalie has some good potential and we’ve seen goalies carry teams through playoffs in the past (see last season Stanley cup final) but we’ll have to see how well he plays this season.

Roster analysis:
Triix did a great job acquiring mj and mg and resigning tread and free, that’s 5/6 top line already established before the draft. At 9th he picked stoner, and I expected him to pick someone registered as a goalie, but stoner is probably as good a goalie or better as most of the guys that were in the draft. In the second round he picked scalz, who could definitely challenge for a starting spot, and will most likely win one on defense. The next 3 picks were jbturf, soiceyboyz, and rugglestiltskin, who seem to be depth picks.

Prediction:
This team will contend for the top spot in the east, that was established before the draft with the moves triix made. They will finish top in the Patrick division, and they are my early favorite to make it to the cup final from the east. Their top line is better than just about every team, their defense can shut down some of the best, and stoner is good enough to keep his team in games, although he shouldn’t face many high quality chances. Watch out for Carolina this season.

Roster Analysis:
Jay resigned some decent players, nobody that will contend for top scoring or any awards, but dead, tarpit, tibod, and monkey are all serviceable. He picked burstnightowl 2nd overall which for some reason seemed to surprise alot of people….. the guy is near or at the top of the scoring every season, he could have easily wen’t first. 2nd round he picked snakepliskin, who is one of the better dmen in the league, and apparently largely underrated aswell. Drwally, aj, puckzone, mathqc, and king are all guys that round out the roster, nothing very special about any of them, but they’re not terrible.

Prediction:
This team will fight with Boston for the 2nd spot in the Patrick division, and they’ll make the playoffs and probably play Boston in the first round. Whoever wins is up in the air, but this team is not good enough to beat Carolina. Burst will have to carry the offense and snake will have to carry the defense. Drwally had some mediocre stats in VG, and jay better hope those numbers don’t carry over into this league. Tibod can also win some games in net, but don’t expect him to carry the team throughout the playoffs.

Roster Analysis:
Mansel made a ridiculous amount of trades and resigns before the draft and wound up having 1 pick in the first 7 rounds, which he used on a goalie, even though he already had 2. Jamiebenn is overpriced and not good enough to live up to that 7 mil cap hit. Sullivan can play rd but is nothing to write home about. Their forwards are not looking good either, the only guy that doesn’t look bad is grippinq, but don’t expect him to do much when his team can’t do anything around him.They have 4 goalies….4, and that’s not including mansel, which is his best position.

Prediction:
Yikes, this team will most certainly finish last in their division, maybe the entire league. Not sure what mansel was thinking picking peacekeeper when he could have maybe picked a forward or dman to help his team. He traded away all his picks and literally couldn’t finish his roster in the draft, playmaker and magician were picked after the draft. Maybe he could trade one of his 4 goalies for a forward or defenseman, then this team will look a bit better.

Roster Analysis:
True kept Murphy and traded for Vince, then drafted vish with the 5th overall pick, and he will most likely contend for roy. Nowel was picked in the 2nd and he’s a good dman to help carry the load on the backend. Not sure who germangretzky is, but true knows something. Magicmike, Kane, chicks, way, and ced round out the rest of the team, and they are all decent players.

Prediction:
This is a tough looking division, all 4 teams can easily contend for the top spot in the Adams, if I had to pick a team to miss the playoffs, this might be it. The forward line looks shaky, and can true carry the oftense? Yea he can score but he doesn’t have redflag at c. Nowel is a good dman, but vish should be at center instead of rd, but this team has weak defensive players so vish might be stuck there. Vince didn’t register for goalie, and I don’t really know who he is. Chicksnwhips is the only goalie I see on the team, and he’s average at best. Put this team in the Patrick and they might finish second.

Roster Analysis:
Cuban had some great resigns in choku, walle, and trout. He picked Harty in the 1st round who will probably play every game and be near the top in scoring. Visual in the starting goalie and is a top goalie in the league. Quinzee will challenge trout for that starting spot at RW, and probably win it. Bundy, kevin hess, and flin round out the roster.

Prediction:
Playoff maker? Yes. Top in the division? Yes. They have all the pieces to make great strides throughout the season. Once again Cuban will have a top team in the league. They will have to deal with the other 3 teams in their division all being right behind them, but these guys will finish on top in the Adams. Carolina still wins the east though.

Roster Analysis:
The forwards on this team look great. Resigning redbeard, then getting linde, u12bme, and smoke makes this team probably one of the highest scoring in the league. Their question marks come in on defense. Monokuuu is a good rd, but robbeyy has struggled mightily in other leagues. Maybe goalieman can win that starting job on LD, he’s probably the better option anyway. Polor is a good goalie, so he may be able to make up for any defensive lapses.

Prediction:
These guys make the playoffs, and probably play Washington in the first round. They won’t make it far though, eventually their defensive struggles will catch up to them and they will be ousted. If polor can improve that LD spot without taking away too much from the offense, remember he has zredbeard on the bench, watch out for Toronto.

Roster Analysis:
Shep had some good resigns in addy and francey. He then picked kamakaz in the first round, which is a bit early for a goalie, but still a good pick. Cornect was picked later in the first, and he will probably play every game at LW and be in the top 10 in scoring at the end of the season. Phillysmvp is a very underrated dman and has great numbers in other leagues. Mrpenguin is a good enough rookie to challenge for the calder, and tiktok, captaincanada, cinchup, and troublekid round out the rest of the roster. Trouble is a top 10 goalie in sp in my opinion, amazing how he didn’t get picked until the 7th round.

Prediction:
These guys will probably be Philadelphia’s best challenger for top in the Adams division. Their forward line is solid, phillys and francey is a seriously underrated defense pairing, and kamikaz has the skills to win a vezina in this league. He also has mrpenguin who can slot in anywhere at forward, tiktok that can fill in for defense well, and trouble who can beat any team as a goalie. If you need a sleeper pick in the east, this is that team.

Roster analysis:
Reap resigned his usual guys, kid and doug, then went on to draft seguin in the first round, who went all the way down to 14th after leading the league in scoring last season. M1keal was picked early in the second, and him and Doug makes a good dpair. Westside looks to be their starting goalie, and kc, mikester, digs, and castles round out the rest of the roster.

Prediction:
This team will be in a battle all season long with Colorado for top in their division, in the end, they’ll probably win it. Reap is going to play every game as he usually does, so rip to anybody else that thought they would get a chance to play RW. They’ll get past the first round of the playoffs, but when that’s probably as far as they’ll go. Another thing to watch is how far westside will take them, and if he’ll even make it the entire season before quitting the league.

Roster Analysis:
Egg had a good looking team going into the draft, resigning etthan, Jhonny, and mummy and then trading for aali. His first round pick was gui, and with a 4 mil cap that is an absolute steal. Next was sedinpower, who even at 3-5 a week is one of the better centers on that draft board. Deathclown, illuminati, and puckstopper round out the rest of the roster.

Predictions:
Easily Anaheim’s biggest threat in the Norris. This team is solid from top to bottom. With  sedin’s games being limited, any of those other guys can slot into center, most likely aali and a rookie would play his rw spot, still solid. They’ll finish second, just because 2 teams can’t finish first in a division. Vegas will be their first round playoff matchup, and that should be a breeze for the avs. After the reseeding, if they play the winner of the smythe or Norris predicts how much further they will go. These guys can beat Anaheim in a best of 7 series, although it will be close.

Roster Analysis:
Not sure what sports was thinking trading a 1st and 2nd for kinglyme. He doesn’t have his usual tandem of true and redflag out there to play every game, true had to become a gm just to get away from him. In the draft he didn’t have a pick until the 3rd round, where he got FUQT, who is probably one of the better rookies in the draft, surprising he made it to the 3rd round. He also picked up beernpickles at the end of the 3rd, and he’s a decent defenseman. In the 4th he picked vandoos, so now sports doesn’t have to play goalie, and bstie, who will probably play center 3 games a week, so is there anyone else on this team good enough to play the other 6? No. Loyalty_caper is a good depth pick and can slot in at LW when somebody isn’t available. Turdburgler, jrg, raja, and mpurch round out the rest of the roster.

Prediction:
Not much good going on here, bsite and FUQT can be a solid pair at forward, but the defense is weak and vandoos won’t be able to make up for all their mistakes. This team will be last in their division, and probably last in the west. With no more true and redflag it seems sports didn’t know what to do and made some bad decisions with trades and then picks in the draft. They can fight with Tampa bay for the top pick in the draft next season, and that’s the best case scenario.

Roster analysis:
In his first season as gm, redconcept did an alright job building a roster. He resigned plisk, power, and rocket, then traded for prodigy. Not a bad start. He picked rich2k in the first round of the draft, and at 6 mil it’s a good deal for a guy that has won scoring titles in this league in the past. The next pick was execution, and this isn’t a bad pick, but there were much better guys available at the time. Mudninja is the backup to pliskin and red in net, mike, ronnie, and randy round out the rest of the golden knights roster.

Prediction:
These guys finish third, get out in the first round of the playoffs. Their forwards look good, and they are solid in net. The defense on the other hand, looks atrocious. Plisk is a goalie, not a dman. Execution has bad numbers in vg, and bad is a nice way of putting it. They’ll make the playoffs in the 3rd spot easily because vancouver will be so close to the bottom. Don’t expect them to contend for a top spot, because that’s a stupid expectation

Roster Analysis:
Fivepoint did a great job keeping together the core of his team from their previous cup win. Stud, fish, chal, and tree are all good enough to help them win a cup again. Then he traded for ezz, and this guy will probably win the Norris this season. Their first round pick was Jedi, and he’ll probably be the rookie of the year. They didn’t have another pick until the third round, where they got muff, wow, what the hell was everything thinking letting muff fall all the way to the third round, a line of jedi-muff-fish is scary. Then they didn’t have a pick until the 5th and they got barnickle, where once again, what the hell was everyone thinking letting sam fall to the 5th round? New360guy rounds out the roster. Oh and they have probably one of the best goalies in the league in treeoflife.

Prediction:
Best team in the league right here, 1st in the smythe, 1st in the west, 1st in the league. They have no holes anywhere. If a forward isn’t available sam, 360guy, or firvepoint can slot in anywhere and they will still be awesome. If stud of ezz isn’t available, they have chal that can play a solid, shutdown defense. Tree is an awesome goalie, and if he isn’t available stud can hop in between the pipes and stop most of the pucks he sees. 2 cups in a row for these guys? I think so. There’s nobody in the division good enough to catch them, and they’ll probably be playing Carolina in the finals,  but that shouldn’t be a problem for them.

Roster Analysis:
Tommy resigned rickrage and then traded for a bunch of picks. He picked redflag first overall, and there were definitely some better options, but redflag isn’t a bad pick. He then picked gunz and bergys and there’s his top d pair. Primetime and PNC are his starting goalies. He then has hockeygirl, sliyumshady, pemm, and arrowhunter to round out his roster. These guys don’t look fantastic on paper, but they can win games.

Prediction:
These guys will fight with San Jose and St. Louis for 2nd and 3rd in the division, but it doesn’t matter because they aren’t good enough to beat Arizona. Their forwards are a bit suspect on the wings, and how will redflag do without true on his left flank? The defense is good but it’s nothing to write home about, and PNC is a good goalie, not great but good.  The playoffs won’t be nice to these guys either, they might sneak out of the 1st round and if they do they’ll probably get blown out of the second.

Roster Analysis:
Koz made a bunch of moves an got a lot of picks before the draft. He also traded for fullmelt, who is a good player that can put up big numbers. In the draft he picked socotimmer, who isn’t a bad defenseman but there were definitely better options at 10th overall. Benner and mclub were picked next, and that’s the starting center and right wing for kozmo. Breezy was taken in the 3rd round, and he’ll be the starting goalie for the Sharks. Notorious and Redpepsi were picked back-to-back next, and they’ll both be in the starting lineup. Dynasty, shadow, ush, and royaltycaper were picked next and they finish off the roster.

Prediction:
These guys are another team that will fighting in the smythe to make those last 2 playoff spots. A lot of forward and defensive depth here, but not many outstanding names. This is a new look for kozmo’s team, no ransom or mx or stivii. These guys are in the same boat as los angeles, if they make it out of the 1st round, the 2nd round won’t be pretty, but they probably have a better chance of making it out of the 1st round. Don’t expect a presidents trophy or Stanley cup appearance from this kozmo team.

Roster Analysis:
El resigned a lot of the players from the abysmal team he had last season, not sure why he kept some of those guys. He also traded for seed(me) and ajax which looks to be their starting d pair. He has ciulla in net and bmarche is there as a backup. Deadant and pgh will be coming off the bench as resigns, but the more games they play the more game St. Louis will probably lose. Then in the draft he picked noles2828 win the 3rd overall pick, and noles has some great numbers in VG. He then didn’t have a pick until the 4th round where he picked a depth dman, snach. For some odd reason El decided to pass the rest of the draft, even though there will still some good names left on the board 2 or 3 rounds after he passed.

Prediction:
If there was a team to finish last in the Smythe, this is it. Their defense is alright, but with seed and ajax not having the best availability, snach and somebody else will have to play a good amount of games on defense. The forwards are kind of suspect aswell, navy isn’t a top scorer in the league, El can play games at center, but don’t expect him to carry the load up from, and noles looks like he’ll have to do most of the scoring up front. They goaltending isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either. Looks like another draft lottery season for El.
